About this creation

I was recently having a conversation with Thomas N regarding populating his micro scale carriers and battleships with appropriate aircraft. I don't know his intention about taking that up, and I certainly don't want to preempt his efforts, but I thought, since I've put my foot in it, what would I do?

The helicopter, particularly, includes lessons learned from Michael Jasper, not that I'm doing the master any justice. The radar thingy on top of the heli looks off. What I really need is an old pneumatic T piece without the central knob to do the radar right. Not going to get one now.

Funny thing is that these may still not be small enough for Thomas' application. In that case, I'm out. I also didn't catch if the desired planes would be props or jets.

Finally, I'll leave it to Nick Barrett to either provide the Technic razzle dazzle to make the plane's gear fully rectractable (and maybe provide throttle gearing), or say definitively that it's not possible. ;^}

I'm not very fond of the helicopter (except for the handcuff use... brilliant work there), but the little plane is great.

HA! In all honesty, This is great microscale stuff. Using handcuffs as landing gear? Brilliant!

Quoting Matt David The weeks of arduous tinkering you must have put into this epic project is eclipsed only by the obvious multitude of research that surely came beforehand!
I know, I know. Did you notice the precise placement of the landing gear along the length of the fuselage bottom? Can you find the matching real plane? (It's on wikipedia.) And given that this took 5 bricklink orders, I would have expected it to rate a good 120 smilies. What gives?

Exquisite! The craftsmanship! The quality! The stunning attention to detail! The weeks of arduous tinkering you must have put into this epic project is eclipsed only by the obvious multitude of research that surely came beforehand! Awe-inspiring!

I must have completely missed this somehow... These are brilliant anyway though! I like the little airplane especially. In answer to your question though, I would not be able to make micro aircraft for my carriers because the scale of my ships is: 1 stud = 40 feet. So one plane on the deck of a ship would be about 1 stud long... I'm honored to have been an inspiration though! ~T

The chopper is great of course but that little plane... wow! So simple a build and yet so genius! May have to steal that idea... (full credit given of course) I just got an idea for a moc using those... Now all I have to do is overcome my ADHD long enough to actually buil... oh look, a quarter! Nice work man! ~ Chris.

Quoting Nick Barrett Super little models! The plane's wheels could retract with a little.. er.. razzle and where's the V12 engine and landing lights? ;-)
Ouchy Mama! I should have consulted beforehand.
