CAU-ACD (CyberAgent Universe) Civil Defence CDW02 "wolf" ldd (2100ad)
Part of a series of support mech created in the cyber agent's scale.
About this creation

Edit: From today I will be going back through ALL the CyberAgent designs to attempt to place some context to the larger story/time-line. This will include the following:

1. changing the titles to include an alpha numerical code for each design so that it can be placed in sequence of chronological position within the time-line. As yet I don't have specifics of this sequence finalised and as a result it could be subject to numerous revisions over the next week or so. One thing that is certain is that it will pre-fix the name of the model/series of models under each entry. The original CyberAgents will have CAU-AA for example, while the CyberAgentsKnights with be CAU-AB etc.

2. I will try to place a definitive date/era in which the sub-plot takes place. Since there is a side-story involving time travel and a retcon concerning the ProtoAgents, this could mean some later references have earlier dates (for example the Redux sub-plot takes place in the 21st century and part of the ProtoAgent plot is in the 20th).

3. CyberAgents and ShadowAgents will now be part of two separate folders, as will Aliens and Demons, but all are effectively CyberAgent Universe designs. From today the term CAU will be used to cover everything in these folders.

4. As much as possible I'm going to try and fill in some of the blanks. Many of the early designs are on other websites but were never uploaded here. (mostly I'd like the full back catalogue (or at least images of each design) to appear here as well (if I can still locate a dowloadable file).

Note that any "updated" or "modernised" designs will be shown with their counterpart. This could mean some existing galleries will be revised.

CDW (Civil Defence Walker) 02 "Wolf"

During the various battles between the CyberAgents and alien invaders, the civil authorities have been there to provide support. Chief amongst their weapons of defence has been a series of "walker" style mechs, created as an off-shoot of the CyberAgent technology.

The 02 better known as the "wolf", is an all purpose vertical tank, able to move quickly over rough terrain and armed with various rocket and mortar weapons. It's major weakness is the lack of self-righting "limbs" utilised by the CyberAgents, but it makes up for this by being better armed and armoured. Against opponents who can be taken down using conventional weapons, the Wolf is almost unequalled.

Unlike the CyberAgents, the CDW series are piloted and require a minimum of pilot and gunner for maximum effectiveness.

[creator notes]

I was toying with a new leg design for my next series of CyberAgents and noticed that they had a "chicken walker" look to them. Deciding that what the CyberAgent series lacked was more "fire power" I converted the design into a basic ATST styled vertical tank. I wasn't that happy with the first design (not uploaded as of 15/09/2010) and decided the cab section needed to be much smaller. CDW02 is my first attempt to correct this and add weapons with a greater firing arc.

The colour scheme is the biggest issue for me. I wanted this to look military like, so the bright colours of my CyberAgents had to be dropped. However for future models I may incorporate more greens and beige for camouflage.

I need to develop some new weapon designs, but so far it does what I wanted.

Foot design is still an issue, I want the suggestion of toes but without increasing the surface area too much. Though I fully intend future walker designs to appear much less ATST like, maybe using crab or spider like limbs.

As always comments and suggestions are welcome.

I've placed this as 2100AD, this is actually earlier than some other CyberAgent designs. The reason for this is that the Civil Defence force pre-dates the CyberAgency and has been in place providing defence for the general population for some time. They are created using CyberAgent technology, but are not literally cyberagents.
