I've been wanting to make some sort of APC or armored vehicle for a while - there are some really cool ones on this site, and have served as inspiration. I also got a great deal on set 8969 on bricklink which I bought specifically to use the 4-wheeler chasis for this project. I also added some technic suspension elements to make it more realistic. I built this MOC over the course of a few days, an hour here, two hours there... For the first time I just took my time and did things right... took time off when I started to get frustrated... thus, I really think this is my best MOC yet.
I sort of imagine this guy as a sort of armored post-apocalyptic / zombie hunting (a la dawn of the dead) command / communications center. It has room for 4 minifigs - a driver, navigator, a communications officer, and the commander. Here are some of the basic specs: 4wd trans; Engine - Honeywell AGT1500 (allocated from an abandoned M-1 Abrahams); Weaponry - anti-tank, mounted rockets; satelite communications system.
As I am just starting with my MOC's, any suggestions are welcome...
Looks super beefy! First bit of advice, and this is important, get a proper backdrop. For less than $2 you can get a large piece of poster board, in any color. This way people will be looking at what you build and not the tv in the background. If this is not an option, use a sheet or blanket, just make sure it is a solid color. Look closely at how other people present their creations and copy what works best. There are also groups that help with advice on all things photography, from lighting to background to Photoshopping. Other then that, just keep building!~H
