CAIn is the logical progression of the CAIN project. Developed from the latest generation of CyberAgent mechs he is intended for mass production as a civil defence unit. Capable of being deployed in large numbers, these units form an army to oppose any conventional threat and can support the CyberAgents in defending civilian and military targets.
Equipped with a long range sniper rifle, and twin wrist mounted small arms. The 2.0 comes in two main forms, the bayonet class and the pistol class. The Bayonet uses twin bladed weapons on each limb which are capable of shredding battle armour. These tend to be used for direct combat and demolition duties. The Pistol class carry forearm mounted short range small arms fire, and are used for operations where suppression fire and covering fire are needed.
both classes have interchangeable systems and it is not impossible to see a unit with both pistols and claws.
The CAIN unit was a deliberate attempt to create a mech design which evoked the spirit of the green army men, which have been a classic child's toy since the 50's. I was also watching a review of Halo Reach when I was messing with the body armour details and I hope this has made for a nicer looking design.
This is a soldierbot, completely different to the other CyberAgent themes which have mostly focused on melee weapons.
The 2.0 is possibly not the end of the series as I'd like to develop a paratrooper version and possibly even marine variants.
One thing I do need to work on though is weapons. I'm terrible at recreating convincing hand guns and may have to resort to copying someone else's ideas - a credit will be given if I do.
As always comments, suggestions and advice will be taken in the spirit they are offered.
