Here is my 4th round entry into the MOC Olympics against the honorable Nick's Bricks.
About this creation
"Tech at work": Build 2 to 4 modern construction vehicles, then design a futuristic mech to substitute all of them. A comprehensive group shot would be nice, but it's not a basic requirement.
I noticed that cranes have quite a bit of attachments, whereas I originally thought that they were separate vehicles. Here is the first attachment....the wrecking ball.
Here is the scoop attachment.
Not a vehicle, but what construction site doesn't have a drill?
Here is the cement mixer with an air compressor in tow.
A close friend suggested that I "Raise the roof yo". So I did. Thanks for the input Leda.
Here's a close up of the air compressor.
Every construction site worth it's salt has an air compressor.
And introducing the all new Caterpillar construction mech!
Here is the crane arm with the wrecking ball, and scoop attachments.
While the original version had yellow feet, there were quite a few "incidents" involving mechs and live people that prompted Caterpillar to change the color to improve visibility.
Here is the right arm, which houses the drill and the cement pump nozzle.
The cement mixer is ready for action at all times.
Also due to the driver's inability to clearly see what is underneath the mech, emergency shut off switches have now been place at the back of the mech's feet for emergency situations that may require the mech to be shut down.
The mech gives the ground crew the ability to use compressed air when the necessity arises.
As well as a cement pump for those tighter spots that require a delicate hand.
Don't forget the various hand tools for the ground crews.
The group photo of the vehicles and the mech.
The feet are designed to climb all over any type of debris that you may find on the construction site.
A demonstration of the mech picking up debris.
Commentary: Well it's been a long, hard ride so far.....and not just because of what Chris wants from me. The sicko.
It's been an honor to go up against Nick, I know that he is a strong builder and a respectable TFOL. It was an honor doing battle with you young sir. My best wishes to you in this round.
Nice work, the little vehicles look pretty cool. The mech is not that ugly, it looks like an excavator turned into a mechanic rooster with construction tools instead of feathers. Truely impressive! ~Marc
Oh, I thought you had like platforms around the knee-y area. That woulda been cool, but kinda also unpractical. That sure is one multi-purpose mech. Hey, IF we both progress it'll be a re-run of our last year's round 1!
Really great job mate. Glad to see the truck worked out with it's beefed-up look. In fact, it's easy with a cool mech to ignore the vehicles, which are really nice in their own right (the compressor is spot-on!). But yes, the mech is the star. Fuel bills aside, if you could actually manufacture these, they would sell like hot cakes. The hand tools are a nice little detail. Having spent many days on large construction sites, I would say the only thing missing is a portable toilet!
Yeah! That is SWEET! Diggin the red claw/feet, great thinking. Love the roof of that cement truck, now it has enough "grunt" to match its beefy wheels! I really like your little interludes with the construction crew and their tools, gives a girl who doesn't have any interest in construction vehicles something to enjoy and giggle along with... hehe, those tighter spots that require a delicate hand, bes of luck!
Some fine building, my friend. I love the inclusion of tools and air supply(I'm all outa love)for for ground crew. Having looked at Nick's entry first, I can see he knew you were no slouch and brought it. Good luck, amigo, I hope to see you in the Elite Eight!~H
