Spartan Log Ep. 1: The Crash
Hey there! this is the first installment in my new Halo series. If you've read my earlier series, HALO: Beyond The Rings, you'll know what this is about.
About this creation

As my vision cleared, I stared up into the purple-orange sky of Ophelia. It was so beautiful… I just wanted to reach out and touch it. The clouds drifted lazily across the sky, like fish in a slow-moving stream. Stream… The thought was so vivid for a second I thought I actually heard a…

Stream! I was lying next to a stream. This sudden realization snapped me back to reality. I looked around, and I saw my mangled MA37 close by. It was sitting in the stream, which was pink with… Blood! My blood! My eyes moved frantically across my body, searching for a wound… And then I found one… It was a few small puncture wounds, filled with thorn bush branches. This connected with my other surroundings…

It created a visual image in my head, moving like a video in my mind. I saw my drop pod landing on a slope, and careening down, bringing rocks and debris like trees with it. It opened, and I was sent flying, down a cliff quarry, over the edge, through undergrowth and brush, and straight to the spot where I was now. My armor must’ve been locked up for a while. I kept studying my surroundings. I noticed the body of a UNSC Army troop, his SMG sidearm close by.

“Nomad Team, are all Spartans present?” The message crackled in over my helmet radio. I knew the answer. No. Not all Spartans are present. I’m not present. I’m not there with my team, explaining our next move against the enemy.
“Negative, SPARTAN A327 is not present or accounted for,” Mason’s deep rumble of a voice seemed to echo over the radio.

“This is SPARTAN A327, I am on my way to the rendezvous point,” I said. This was a lie; I was still sitting there pulling thorns out of my butt. I got to my feet and walked over to my rifle, picked it up and whacked the barrel with a rock so it was straight again. I walked over to the makeshift trench where the soldier’s body was, picked up his gun and put it into the empty holster where my M6G should be. I felt a little guilty taking a dead soldier’s weapon, but I thought, why would he need it now?

With a weary sigh, I began my three-mile trek to the rendezvous point. I hope I made it before dark…

Thanks guys. I've haven't written a comic in this style, but I like to write stuff, so I wanted to try it. But anyway, thanks.
