Tower Museum
Museum in old town wall with tower.
About this creation
Obviously, the tower's design is taken from the official Tower Bridge set. I just made it thicker, shuffled the windows around and adapted the floor heights. And made it modular, of course, which was a bit of a problem since the ingenious half-stud offset design was reasonably solid in the Tower Bridge itself, but not
when modularized; luckily there are 1x1 and 1x2 Technic bricks in tan...

That opening in the wall, by the way, will lead to another exhibition room in the next building.

The bank of the little river (which will continue for a few baseplates to the left):

Dropped something?

A little concert on the roof - the exhibitions alone apparently aren't that attractive to the public...

Let's make up a little history:

In the late 19th century, the city council discussed what to do with the rest of the old town wall and the tower: tear it down like many other rests in the past, or renovate it and put a museum inside? Luckily, they agreed on the latter. The chief architect had just returned from a trip to London, so there were a few influences from the new Tower Bridge in the new tower design.

When they broke down the brick stairs to allow for large windows (town walls usually didn't have that many towards the outside, of course), they found the remnants of an even older fortress! [You might recognize it as the famous Yellow Castle from 1978.] So they dug deeper and excavated more of an old wall which has now become part of the exhibition - together with original armor, weapons and flag.

Now let's have a look at the rest of the interior and all the other exhibits:

The description boards are simply printed on regular paper and attached with adhesive tape around the edges; almost all of the smaller text is just dummy text.

How much are the tickets to visit and what are the hours of operation? Oh yeah, this is a LEGO Museum! For a second I thought it was real. And here I was ready for the roof top concert. A SUPERB JOB! Very convincing! Took both your time and talent and cost a pretty treasure. Maybe you should charge admission! I added you to my favorite builders list!

Thanks. :) Yes, well, this bright-colored stuff will be covered with the street and the other buildings in the future anyway – maybe I should have covered them for these photos too...

Very nice, great building, I must say the colored bricks in the base are quite distracting, maybe cover them up with some black/grey panels, other than that it's really beautiful, good job
