A project of 2 years in the making. Well, it only took 2 years to gather up parts and money. I dunno how many piece there are, but I can tell you it's 10 feet tall. All black pure lego. I had to buy a house to put the tower in. I had one picture to go by; so yes this is scratch built. Enjoy.
As ya'll can see from some of the pictures, the tower met it's untimely fate. I had left it outside so I could get some pictures of the tower with snow on it; but that saturday it didn't snow but had a wind storm. It was blown over and my wife was awesome and she went out and picked up all the pieces.
I ended up taking apart the entire tower and rebuilt it. I've posted pictures in a new tread.
Thank you all very much. And thank you Mocpages.com for choosing my build for the MOTD. I encourage you all to check out the Rebuild of Orthanc. It took six weeks to rebuild, but it stands at 11ft tall now.

really cool! be sure to get all the bricks in the yard.
Great testament of your ability to make the ordinary bricks create something much cooler than they are by themselves. I'm struck by how standard most of the bricks are, but it makes your build all the more interesting. Great work.
Reconstruction is going well, my second attempt at Orthanc. So far the only issue I am running into is running out of parts. This tower will be more detailed than the first. So far Section 1 (base) took 1 week to build, followed by Sections 2 took 1 week to build, same with Section 3, Section 4 took 2 weeks due to being more detail than the fist Section 4. I am really liking the way this tower is looking. I just started Section 5, and finding that running out of parts again. I going to hit up brinklink.com for more parts. Section 1-4; put together stands 7 ft 1 1/2 inches tall.
Hello Everybody! I have great news; I am rebuilding my tower. It will be mostly the same size, but more detail then the orginal Orthanc Tower. Which I am going through more parts, and needing to buy more parts. :)
I am estimating that this rebuild will be closer to 11 feet tall.
Update: After a week of construction, first section is complete. Starting on secend section!!
Thank you all for all of your comments. They mean so much to me. I have some sad news to report....not really.....but on Saturday 01/21/2012 the tower was blown over and is now in pieces. So my options are to either rebuild it at the same scale or build ittwo or three times bigger OR built Stormwind City from the game World of Warcraft. I do not kknow what to do yet.
WOW! Now this is spectacular! I love all the details and Gandalf's staff is really amazing! How did you get it to twist like that? Did you burn it and crinkle it with pliers? Any way, what you accomplished in bricks is stunning. 1,000/5 stars. :D
Thank you everyone for your kind words. I've actually finished the tower by adding some detaial at the base of the tower where the stairs attach. But with the help of my son at the age of 21 months, I had to leave that detail off for now. He likes to remove the the addtions. :) I will try to get a picture of it posted.
Very nice, lol, you had to buy a house to put it in ? why not :p great job, this deserves more viewers, why not joining lord of the rings groups and add your creation ? it will be noticed, anyway, great job
