Hogwarts Clock Tower and Courtyard
Hogwarts WIP - Clock Tower, Courtyard, Covered Walkway & Stone Circle
About this creation
For starters, you'll have to forgive the mess around the MOC... I'm trying to limit building to 1 desk, but it's hard.

This has been a long time coming, since LEGO released their version of the Clock Tower (4757 - Hogwarts Castle). I found their design extremely lacking - the dark & light grey for starters, as well as the open-ness to whole model. Not to mention their staircase design.

The Clock Tower is my favourite section of Hogwarts, so I started my MOC here first in 2004. I've taken great lengths to make this almost an exact replica of the movie version.

I haven't uploaded pics of the back or inside yet, because I'm not 100% happy with the back view. More soon.

Of course, in the movies, the Clock Tower had a courtyard at the base, which connected to the covered walkway, which led to the Stone Circle and eventual path to Hagrid's Cabin. I've done my best to replicate these as well.

You can see the open side of my Great Hall in the background too - this is my next fixer-upper :-)

I have a few other towers/walkways built but I'm going to finish these before uploading.

Let me know what you think!!!

I tried many different designs for the courtyard, but finally decided to keep this one.
In the movie version, within each archway is 3 smaller wrought iron arches. This design was the closest I could come to the real thing. Am currently searching for alternative colours for the round window arches inside the main arches.

I'm still working on this - there's an extra tower-ish thing in the top left hand corner.

In the movies this Covered Bridge is much longer and wonky, but I'm short of space and black arches :-)

This is the top of the Viaduct, which connects the Entrance Courtyard (attached to the back of the Great Hall) to the West Wing of Hogwarts.

As mentioned above, I'm working on the Great Hall & the courtyard next, so will have somewhere to attach this.

Wow what you are undertaking is amazing. I'm going to cover all of the MOCs in this comment. I don't know if you've read all the books but they should provide some information. I would suggest printing out your own decals. If you finish this and make the landscape and stuff please tell me. This is an awesome project keep up the good work. For it's awesomeness 5-5. --John

I'd love to see your version! When will you be adding your own creations?

Great stuff! Very movie/game accurate! I'm going to follow these with great interest as I am a huge Harry Potter fan. Have you played the Half-Blood Prince game at all? I have it on WII and it's an excellent reference. It's incredibly detailed and you can go around the whole castle and grounds. I highly recommend it as a reference source.

That's looking great so far! Its hard to accurately map out Hogwarts grounds from the films as they kind of keep changing things around, but this is identical to the Playstation games set up. I am really looking forward to seeing this finished! The stone circle is sweet. You will have to put Hermione fig in there socking Malfoy in the jaw.
