This is another old build of mine, long since decommissioned. I regret not having a full-view shot of the frigate, as the hex-shaped hull was interesting. I used this to experiment with a plate hull, as well as angles and SNOT. I was low on black plates and Blacktron tends to use yellow sparingly, so I decided to incorporate some gray as well.
About this creation

This is a view of the top from the other side of the ship, with something of a focus on the way the airlock and the hull interact.

The bridge and its weapon emplacements gave the ship a bit of a bug-eyed look.

The angled sides were designed to open both up and down, allowing access to the interior. The joints were not the most robust parts of the model, but it seemed like an interesting concept.

The bridge was a separate module from the main hull, attaching in a manner inspired by the classic Blacktron model line. I used cockpit screens for the side view ports, mostly in an effort to let allow for interior access to the bridge.

Here is the bridge with the side view ports open.

This is a rear view of the separated bridge module.

Engineering also opened at the sides, again to allow access to the interior.

Like the bridge, engineering was a separate module.

I made extensive use of trans-red for engines, in keeping with classic Blacktron aesthetics.

The airlock was based on the Moonbase standard. It fit a minifig very nicely, and actually meshed with the angled hull surprisingly well.
