LEGO Halo Rocket Warthog on LDD
Rocket Warthog: Finally, a Warthog that can kill those stupid Banshees.
About this creation
Well, I am a wee bit disappointed. Although I said that it was better than my Revenant, after looking at the Pelican for quite some time, I realized that it was worse by quite a few points. However, no one else really thought so, so my Pelican crushed the Revenant in just ONE DAY, and it took my Revenant to get to 7 smilies in around a month.

Ignoring this dilemma, I have promised (and now finished) building the Rocket 'Hog!!!

Banshee view. Yes, yes, this isn't one of those tricks where I just put a rocket launcher on my existing Warthog (although that would be nice), for I specifically mentioned in the Reach Warthog that the rocket version would have a whole new design. Out of all three Warthogs I have constructed, this is my favorite and the most up-to-scale.

Side view. I still hadn't forgotten to add a body :P, but I made sure it would be fine in this model. The more I look at this 'Hog, the more I'm finding mistakes, so hopefully you guys like it.

A shot of under the hood. Although the last Reach version 'Hog had an engine apparatus and such, I decided to remove it so that there was more room to build the suspension system. Other than that the wheels and the tusks are still the same.

WINDSHIELD!!! Although my original intention was not to include a windshield in any of my Warthogs, that has since changed because now EVERYONE has one. Plus, the windshield here is the only way that I could get the grey "roof" skeleton up on top. You might also notice that the hood is different, but not all different: I took the template of the original (the old) warthog's hood and changed it around a bit.

A shot of the grey skeletal roof and the comfy seats inside. Interior really does matter. Except the fact that I forgot a steering wheel.

I tried to make some pretty snazzy controls, but this was before I used the windshield so therefore the windshield covered it. All that's really visible is the comlink apparatus, or in other words, the two 1x1 round studs. Looking to the bottom right, you see the back part of the skeleton.

Here's a shot of the back. Look closely. Don't the headlights and step bar make it look like a bored face? I don't know, that's my imagination at work. You can also see the rocket pods and the back wheels.

The grey man group has taken control of this Warthog. As you can see, they can still see through the windshield, but they still wouldn't be able to reach the steering wheel if it ever existed.

And the star of the show: the rocket turret! Rather boring and simple, but serves its purpose well. And NO: this rocket pod apparatus does not fire actual rockets, kids. Put a decal there.

Side view.

Front view. If there was someone manning this, I would run.

Showing that this rocket launcher has mobility. The hog's ready to blow up some low-flying Banshees.

A frontal shot, which I forgot. I would run away as well.

Probably the most important, yet the worst, picture is the comparison Banshee view shot. The giant Reach version is on the left, the original Warthog LRV on the right, and the new rocket version in the middle. I think the middle one is definitely the best out of all three, albeit a wee bit too long. The Reach 'hog was ugly. The original had no body. I think it's an easy winner.

Well, although I have doubts about it skyrocketing to victory like the Pelican did, I still think this a good 'Hog. Give your thoughts about it, and "Rate, don't hate!"

Quoting The Gammon I have just bought this from LEGO factory, there goes the last of my christmas money. :)
I found a few construction flaws, if you haven't already found them. The windshield is made of four separate pieces, two of which are not connected to the whole thing, so what i did is stuck a 1x4 plate above the windshield to connect it. I also found out that the control panel for the passenger seat is not connected, simply replace the plate under the windshield with a 1x6 plate. Hopefully this helps, ill post a picture later.
