Designed specifically for invading a planet, the NEOS 'Starfire' carrier has the ability to deploy an entire army just minutes after exiting hyperspace.
About this creation
Profile view. The front portion of the 'Starfire' was loosely based off of the shape of Jon Walker's Oort.
The bridge, main forward cannons (1 MAC, 2 focused plasma emitters, 1 medium fixed laser turret).
Side hull, including 3 light laser turrets and 2 MACs on each side of the ship.
Rear side. This section is armed with 2 heavy plasma turrets and 3 light laser turrets.
The fighter bay, capable of holding up to 50 heavy fighters (25 on each side).
Engines. Not my best layout, but they had to be small to fit the main function of the 'Starfire'...
NEOS 'Comet' carriers. Three of them to be exact. The 'Starfire' provides faster transportation than the 'Comet' carriers could achive on their own, as well as orbital support, point defense, and an overall worthy distraction.
The 'Comet' carriers fit in the main hangar bay, in a linear fashion. A tight squeeze, but the extra troops is well worth it. Each carrier can hold 1500-2000 troops, depending on what tanks, mechs, etc. are also onboard.
In addition to having carriers, the 'Starfire' is equipped with six oversized drop pods, capable of landing tanks, infantry, or ordinance from orbit.
The cavernous carrier hold is most of the ship's being, and could fit hundreds of starfighters instead of the carriers after a quick refit. Excellent for making any DA cruiser feel like that kid who threw a rock at the beehive in his backyard, and missed out on school for a week.
The NEOS 'Comet' carrier can also serve as a command center after landing.
The NEOS has landed, and there is little that the Dark Augusto outpost can do to defend against such force.
Thanks for viewing, I really liked how this turned out. Let me know what you think!
A finely built carrier and the details about its armaments and capabilities are well presented too. The final picture showing the landing craft next to the city set the scale perfectly. A fine job to be sure.
Awesome spacecraft, full of many details such as the use of minifig hands as turrets and the use of those bionicle pieces. The shape of this craft is also great, and the fact that there is room inside where the comets can be held is very cool also. Nice one. :)
