Gungan Energy Catapult
This is my version of the Gungan Energy Catapult, perhaps one of the first LEGO versions made so far. It started out as a WIP, and then turned into this. I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. It will be used in my planned upcoming Battle of Naboo (grassy plains) diorama. Enjoy!
About this creation
Gungan Energy Catapult

Product Information
Manufacturer: Gungans
Type: Catapult
Capacity: 1 booma

Usage and history
Era(s): Rise of the Empire era
Affiliation: Grand Gungan Army

Gungan energy catapults, or whizboomas, were mobile weapons that were used by the Gungans in the Battle of Grassy Plains against invading Trade Federation droids. The catapults launched large boomas that deactivated the enemy droids. The catapult was made of hornweed.

(To see a picture of the real catapult for comparison, please go here:

The booma (energy ball) is being loaded into the catapult's launcher.

This is the slope, which the "bows" of the catapult are connected to.

This is the connection cross of the catapult's launcher.

The wheel, AKA the battle wagon. Large battle wagons are used for transport of the boomas (energy balls), and these smaller ones you can see here are used for transport of the catapult, and its components - mostly. Should be tan, but I didn't have the right coloured pieces, for now. Will be re-coloured later on.

The ends of the catapult's launcher. Note the use of the forestman hat
to get the shape rightly and a bit pointy, like on the real thing.

Overall view.

Here are some of the Gungan weapons I made.
They feature the cesta (left, Gungan warrior), energy shield (Gungan warrior's right hand), atlatl (in Jar Jar's left hand) and an electropole (Jar Jar's right hand). On the groumd, you can see a large booma and a small booma holder.

See them weapons on Wookieepedia:

WIP (Work In Progress) shot of my Falumpaset. The tan "seat" isn't part of the Falumpaset's body, it's actually a carriage for the Gungan who seats in it.

I hope you enjoyed it. Next up is probably my entry for the Star Wars LEGO Creations Christmas Contest, if I manage to finish it on time.

This will be used in an upcoming Battle of Naboo (grassy plains) diorama.
Several things are still in progress. I made most of the Gungan weapons, but I still need an army and some Kaadus. The making of the large beast is also planned, but first I'm busy with the medium-sized Falumpaset. You've seen a Work In Progress picture of that above, right?

Oh, and please,
so I can hear about your opinions. Hope you enjoyed this.

Quoting Red Stripe Productions This is great. The curve is probaly the best part. I have one question.
Thanks, and what is your question? Feel free to ask something, if you want to.

This is great. The curve is probaly the best part. I have one question. It is nice to see people build star wars creations other than clones. (No offense to custom clone artists)

This is a nice Star Wars creation. At least some people don't make colored clones all the time.

Nice work, like Moody said, good job on the curve.. However, that baseplate looks like it's in dire need of a little soap and toothbrush scrubbing! =P ~H

Quoting E.K.O . Very cool catapult, does it really work?
Thanks, and yes, it works. So far, I have been able to fire it about 30-40 centimeters far. I'm sure the booma could be fired even further.

Quoting JC REX Awesome, where did you get the Gun-guns( Don't think I spelt it right)
Thanks guys. The Gungans <--- (keep that spelling in mind) are from the new 7929 The Battle of Naboo set. It is supposed to be released in 2011, but I was lucky to find this in my country early.. They are great, much better than the old Gungans: I still use the only old Gungan I have, classic Jar Jar, as a generic Gungan.
