The Advanced Combat Commander, codename "Ghost Raptor" is the standard production version of the ExCC GR-I "Ghost Raptor".
About this creation
With the success of the ExCC GR-I "Ghost Raptor" during battlefield testing Dynamo Industries has decided to move ahead with the ghost project, this has lead to the production of the ACC Ghost Raptor II, which is vastly superior to the original Ghost Raptor.
The eletronic warfare systems aboard the ExCC GR-I, which gave it the name "Ghost Raptor", remain on the ACC GR-II with some slight improvements. The most notable upgrade is the decreased time for the software to connect with enemy systems and each "horn" on the head can target a different mech entirely, or different systems on the same mech.
The shoulder mounted rocket pods of the ExCC GR-I were deemed useless by Dynamo Industries top analysts, they didn't have the firepower to deal with heavier armours or enough ammo volume to make them useful.
The ACC GR-II replaces these in favour of a powerful forwards shield array, which is significantly more effective at blocking incoming fire than the basic shields placed on the body. However, because of the bulk of the array and their positioning, they only cover 160 degrees in front of the mech but they are strong enough to absorb much of the power from energy attacks before they hit the compressed diamond armour and magnetic redirect system.
The ACC GR-II also improves on the main enginge; on the original it was little more than a directional thruster, but with the addition of the tail fin and a set of three power cells separate from the main power core of the robot greatly increase the Ghost Raptor's manoeuvrability and speed.
The separate power cells provide the Ghost Raptors main enginge with the ability to boost the power output significantly for a three minutes, allowing the robot to exceed its normal speed, before the power cells need to recharge from the main power supply.
The communications array has also received an upgrade; five small but potent power cells are now attached to the machine, allowing the robot to punch through enemy comm. jamming or environmental interference without depleting the main power core, allowing the ACC-GR II to give orders through interference and fight at the same time, without depleting power that would be better used on other systems.
Like the main power core, the five small powercells recharge when not in use.
Since the rocket pods were removed, which were one of the Ghost Raptors only built in weapons, a new system was installed; the Plasma Caster, which is a pair of powerful energy "shotguns" built into the front of the armoured forearms. The pair of plasma casters is significantly more powerful that the rocket pods, but only really effective at clsoe range; at medium range their accuracy suffers and at long range it is nearly impossible to hit a target.
The second built in weapon system of the ExCC GR-I was the elbow mounted Ripspikes, which while excellent at tearing though armour they miniscule reach made them nearly useless.
The problem was solved by adding a magnetic clamp and durable chain, allowing the Ghost Raptor to deploy the weapon and then swing its arm to attack and attack with considerably more range.
The addition of the chain also has the added bonus of entangling enemies if used properly, making them easy targets for a barrage from the Plasma Caster on the other arm.
The ACC GR-II also comes with an improved handheld arsenal; with dual "Rain of Fire" auto-cannons (Bottom right), an improved "Glaive" beam lance (Top), a Thorn railgun modified to be one handed (Bottom left) and the "Firelance" superlong-range variable cannon (Middle left).
The dual "Rain of Fire" autocannons are the new all-purpose weapon of the Ghost Raptor, they fire a shaped, armour piercing explosive round (similar to antiquated HEAT shells) accurately at medium- and close-range and are capable of hitting targets at long-range if fired semi-automatically.
One autocannon is more than enough to handle heavily armoured tanks, grounds vehicles and well-armoured mechs. Two is capable of reducing even the heaviest armoured targets to ruins in a matter of seconds.
The "Glaive" beam lance is almost exactly the same as on the ExCC GR-I, with the except of a small powercell on the weapon itself allowing it to be used for extended periods of time without draining the main power core.
The "Thorn" was previously a superlong-range weapon that required two hands to fire accurately, but it has been modified to fit on one arm. As a result, the accuracy suffers slightly, making the new thorn a long-range weapon but having no effect on the damage a hit deals.
The "Firelance" superlong-range variable cannon was designed to replace the thorn as the ACC GR-IIs sniper weapon. As the name implies, it has two firing modes; the first it fires armour-piercing flechettes with pinpoint accuracy, these flechettes are more than enough to penetrate the heaviest armours but carry no explosive charge, making them useless unless they hit a vital part, the second firing mode fires a concentrated evergy beam with the same pinpoint accuracy, this beam causes a chain reaction at the point of impact that rips its target apart it is effective against armour but requires a moment to burn through and hit anything vital.
Pew pew, ratatatatatatatat!
(Creator's note: I made a few cosmetic changes to the leg, on the calf-spike the small enginges are mounted to.)
(I'm also very happy with the new improved feet, the previous feet felt too bulky for something that's supposed to be airborne, now they look a lot like birds feet.)
Awsome robot! I hate to say it, but I actually like the body style of the first Ghost Raptor a bit more, but the new weapons on this are exceptional! The firelance cannon is probly my favorite. Great presentation and technical description, you'd get 8/5 if there was an option for it!
It wasn't intentional but it sure did end up looking very Blacktron, maybe I'll do some Blacktron stuff... that was one of my favourite space sets when I was a kid. :)

Thanks! I actually have a four legged thing in the works, but it's little more than a walking platform right now

Haha, thanks a lot dude, I liked the first model but I felt a few bits were lacking so I tried my best to improve them and it turned out pretty good. The guns are my favourite part, especially the autocannons which were inspired by the guns you did for your Omnia (Everyone likes dual machine guns right? :D)but I had fun building all of them, really.
Neil, my good fellow, the first version was very impressive, but you really exceeded all my expectations with this one! I loved it, the legs, arms and the weapons being my favorite parts. The head looks like an insect head, which is nice.
Looks much like an adult version of the original if these where actually animals. the blacktron symbol on his forehead is cool, and the weapons are good too. The feet look amazing! You really did good in bringing old an new together on this one.
