Greystone Castle was built between May, 2006 and Nov, 2006.
I had just come out of a 3rd third dark age and couldnt wait to build another castle. It had been 2 years since I had touched my Lego collection. These days I dont have any time on my hands at all. Greystone Castle was kinda overlooked in some parts, so it was retouched a couple of times. Have a close look at the pics and you may notice the differences in the Back Right/hand corner Tower.
Greystone is more like a Citadel than a Castle. All of the inside curtain walls are lined with shopfronts and dwellings and there are multiple levels. The Castle itself has its own fortification within the Citadel walls. There are two entrances. Looking at it, one is to the Front/Left and the other is the to the Right coming straight from the docks. At the front of the Citadel is a small township with a Guard house and a bridge that runs over a river that cuts off the City from the Forest.
Wow that's just blown me away. I'm just starting on my own large castle which is going to take the best part of a year, but after looking at yours i'm going to add a small village too. Funny thing about lego is no matter how old you are (i'm 33)you always come back to it, happy building. Oh did i tell you what a great moc.
I've been considering starting a large castle creation of my own, and this is certainly inspiring. The complexity of design, detailing, and sheer scale is wonderful. It's easily one of the finest castle creations I've seen in months of searching - congrats on a fantastic project! Just curious...did you have a resource as reference for your design, and any idea how many bricks were used?
great job! 6/5! quick question: Do you destroy all your castles before building a new one? i mean like i saw all 3 castles you have. did you make it 1 at a time aand then destroy it to make a new one or do you use new lego pieces? can you show us a picture of all 3 castle so we know you dont destroy your creaations. your creations are too good to be destroy. This is amazing! I can't believe how well made this is- and the architecture is stunning! I love the houses and the overall look of the inside- you should be a Lego Master Builder for the company, if you aren't already! :o
When your a kid playing with Lego this is the stuff that you dream of building, especially in the castle system. You've captured everything i wanted when i was younger. It has an incredible sense of life in the city streets and within the castle itself. An incredible work.
