AEGAKS-APB 000P D-Bk 'Shinigami'
This is the Original D-Type frame, complete with the first functional SHINIGAMI System.
About this creation
AEGAKS-APB 000P D-Bk ‘Shinigami’

This is the AEGAKS-APB 000P D-Bk ‘Shinigami’. It is the prototype D-Frame and the origin of the SHINIGAMI System. The word Shinigami is Japanese and it literally means ‘God of Death’. Knowing this, the engineers and scientists of Schrado Industries sought to build a machine that would deal out death to its foes, and thus was the Shinigami and its System born.

The Shinigami is armed with a unique sniper rifle that features the VAT (Variable Ammunition Type) System, meaning that it can fire various types of projectiles, but it is recommended that it be left on the Particle Beam setting, since it is by far the most energy efficient choice. What makes this particular rifle unique is that it features a pair of sharp, deadly blades attached under the barrel. This makes it possible to utilize it for melee combat.

The engineers, who designed the Scytherifle, nicknamed ‘Reaper’ decided on a scythe as the alternate configuration because of old English legends of a cloaked figure who strode the countryside mercilessly cutting down victims with his scythe, so it was mainly a psychological measure, but since that is useless against machines, it must have been chosen for the amusement of it's creators.

Because of the type of joint used to attach the blades, test pilots quickly learned that the rifle could also be converted into a spear, which could be even more deadly when used to stab and then shoot an enemy at point blank range. This type of attack could penetrate even the toughest armor with shielding, because the blades vibrate at an extremely high frequency which allows them to cut through most types of energy shields with relative ease, making this unit a force to be reckoned with both at extreme range and close range.

The Shinigami’s cloak isn’t just for decoration. It is made of a ridiculously expensive alloy of secret metals that looks and behaves just like cloth, with the durability of a SHINIGAMI System core. It can deflect most forms of laser and particle beams, making it a near-perfect defensive measure. However, it is not invulnerable. It can be damaged by acid and fire, but there have been very few robot drones that use those methods of attack, and it can also be damaged by slashing weapons like claws or swords.

The Shinigami’s only other melee weaponry is the pair of cooling fins on its forearms, a concept that would see later use in the Mass Produced D-Frame, Susano. The four ‘wings’ on its back are actually part of the Shinigami’s Flight unit. Yes, this thing can actually fly. There are other boosters concealed in the feet and smaller ones on the thighs used for adjusting direction.

The Shinigami’s only other onboard weaponry apart from the laser in its eye, are a small pair of pistols. In this picture it is reaching for the one on its left hip.

The Shinigami dual wielding its pistols. It wouldn’t be a product of Schrado Industries if these little beauties didn’t have the VAT System, so needless to say, they do.

A rear-view of the Shinigami, showing of the SHINIGAMI System core and the Flight unit in its closed state.

SHINIGAMI is an acronym which stands for:
The way the system works is: Basically, the pilot activates their secondary Neural Uplink, providing a direct access between the unit’s main computer system and the pilot’s mind, unlocking the full abilities of the Neural Trace system, including the head, because the SHINIGAMI System requires the sheer processing power of the Human brain in order to perform the complex equations that come with fracturing the crystal rod that makes up the core of the Drive Booster unit. The crystal rod contains enough energy to power a D-type frame for several months, so when it shatters, all of that energy is released at once, quadrupling the weapon and motion systems output for about fifteen minutes. The rod actually releases more energy, but fifteen minutes is about the maximum amount of time that the pilot can handle, and after about twenty minutes, the D-Frame will actually explode from within, destroying or severely damaging anything within about a half-mile radius, as well as completely destroying the unit. A beneficial side effect of this system is that it will completely recharge the main and auxiliary power cells. The crystal rod is completely used up once the system is activated so it must be replaced after use. The prohibitive cost of the core of the booster unit consequently means that there are very few SHINIGAMI equipped mecha. The Amaterasu is one of three currently produced mecha that has the system, along with the Susano, and the Shinigami prototype. All of the cooling fins must be open when the system is activated, or the Frame will melt. In order to activate the SHINIGAMI system, the pilot has to verbally disable the limiter and manually input a code word of his choice, one for each of the four levels of the SHINIGAMI system. Levels one through three increase the output of the unit exponentially, but level four is a desperation move that funnels all the generated power through the frame at once, burning out the circuits and killing the pilot nine times out of ten. The one time that it didn’t kill the pilot, it left him catatonic, so level four is a method of last resort.

SHINIGAMI System and flight unit opened. The flight unit acts as a giant outlet for the immense heat the system generates.

Flight unit fully opened and activated, this is the mode that lets the Shinigami fly.

All cooling fins open with dual pistols. The cooling fins can also act as a sort of ersatz shield, like the kind used on the Amaterasu Kai.

All flaps fully open, this is at least level two of the SHINIGAMI system, maybe level three. Pistol in one hand and Scythe in the other, finblades open. I really like this shot, it shows off the true size and scope of the Shinigami.

A close-up of the leg, showing off the angled armor. The armor is angled to deflect, rather than absorb blows, and it has been specially treated to be invisible to radar and most other forms of high-tech detection.

A shot of the Shinigami’s alternate form, the Sniper base. If the unit is cut in half at the waist, it can still fight. It can still fly in this form, and it usually starts a battle like this, with the legs nearby. If it detaches its own legs, then it can reattach them as well.

A shot of the frame without the rifle, pilot block, energy cell and core.

The pilot block, Drive core, and energy cell. As with the Amaterasu and Susano, the eye is able to fire a piercing beam of energy that can cut through most robot units.

The Pilot block. This Pilot block has more sensory systems then the Amaterasu and Susano because of this unit’s main focus of pinpoint sniping. The Pilot of the Shinigami is Rai Schrado, son of the founder of Schrado Industries. Rai is the only pilot of the Shinigami, but he still has the full complement of twelve mechanics. Rai carries the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the NAARA, and, despite rumors to the contrary, it wasn’t because of his father. When the Shinigami was first unveiled, Rai demanded that he be the one to pilot it. His father wasn’t happy, but eventually he acquiesced. He is the commanding officer of the Shinigami Squad, consisting of the Amaterasu Kai, a standard Amaterasu unit, a Susano unit, the R-Frame prototype codenamed 'Arthas', and a heavily modified M-Frame codenamed 'Durandal'. Rai has led his squad through many small battles and a few larger skirmishes, and he nearly always led his team to victory. Rai dislikes running away, but he didn’t have much choice when the main American base was destroyed by a massive robot swarm. Rai covered their retreat from the air using the Shinigami’s flight unit and Booster system, following the damaged transport until they were out of range of the enemy fire. He is proud to fight alongside the Sentai Province army against the instigators of the Robot Rebellion. (Picture coming soon, it didn't upload correctly.)

Just a picture of the Rifle, a modified Standard AEGAKS rifle. With scytheblades. Yeah.

Creator’s Notes
So here is the original D-type frame and the originator of the SHINIGAMI system. Except… not really. The Shinigami is actually the most recent D-Type frame that I’ve built. In fact, I’ve uploaded my AEGAKS in the order that I built them. As usual credit for the AEGAKS line, the head unit, and inspiration for the frame and armored pilot block goes to Jason Dominguez. I’ll try and upload the M-frame I built as soon as possible.
Until next time! Feel free to rate and comment!

The mistake was actually on the Shinigami Demon, and it wasn't an error in word choice, but I'll accept this one. Which creation do you want me to comment on?

Quoting CEO Luiz Camargo Very nice AEGAKS, the black coat give it a true "Grim Reaper" look! Too bad that some photos are a bit dark to see, specialy the cloaked ones. But nevermind, this is awesome! PS: What did you use for the cloak?
Its actually the cloak from the Darth Vader statue that was released a few years ago.

Most definitely pulls off the "shinigami" look. This thing is certainly a barrel full of death, epic, and surprise features. Great job! I have to say that I'm jealous of all the black "foot"/"ship bow" pieces you have. I don't have any to finish my MAS-003 with. Regardless, all these epic AEGAKS I'm finding have convinced me to make my own AEGAKS homage ^^
