My first LEGO train !
This is an 8-wide austrian heavy freight locomotive. (Similar to the german BR194)
The MOC is in "0"-scale (1:45) which is what the gauge of the standard Lego track indicates, and thus the right proportions makes it 8-wide, NOT skinny 6-wide... ;-)
It meassures 390mm between buffers.
The pantograph is a little blocky. This is the part that has cost me the most time to do. I would like a much finer and more delicate thingy here...
Some roof details...
Note the red lantern just under the roof.
The model is articulated in several degrees. This was necessary in order to negotiate the super-tight standard Lego curves.
-Still I tried to make the gap less visually disturbing, when the parts separates a little in the curves...
I have a video of the loco negotiating some S-curves;
oufff! what a locomotive! i really like this 3 sections concept, it looks tremendously cool! i can t wait until you show the whole set, and station i guess? mine s still in sacred mode, as i did nt touch it much yet, but, i ll rebuild it 8 wide, i m sure.
very inspirational work henrik!
Great work, a lot of details. The roof part looks very realistic. I guess this is in the SBB colors? The engine houses come out very well, also thanks to the stripings and the grills. Overall a great looking model.
Henrik, this is a stunning build. I like the proportions of it. Trains look better as eight wide. LEGO seems to have a phobia against anything wider. They do the occasional truck, but those usually aren't well done. Your pantograph looks great on my honest opinion. Regards, Eric.
Very nice and realistic model with all the details and features! I'm working now on a high detail model as well, somthing like working suspension, working steering, working engine...etc, it's really so hard to put a lot of details and working elements in a small LEGO model, but you did great on this one, keep it up my friend.
