IT'S DONE! Hell this was my hardest work. (for some odd reason my models are getting bigger and bigger o.O) Anyways here it is! The RX-110 Gabthley from the anime Zeta Gundam.
About the mobile armor part...I think it's buildable...but I won't be the one to do that. XDD
Please rate it and comment! I'm very curious!

Well, I have a lot of free time at the moment. btw this isn't the only Gabthley model made from lego, there are two other (that I know of) on brickshelf, 1 made from total bionicle and technic parts (it can even transform!) and 1 made by Izzo himself! But that one is in white colors and has a totally different build(smaller in scale than this),it's more like a Gabthley look alike than an actual Gabthley (it's named Pseudogabthley) |

Thanks for the great comment! After this MOC I think I'm ready to start the Sazabi. I think the most difficult parts were the shoulders and arms. I built about 3 different shoulders before I got the right shape, than i had to put in 3 thrusters in the arms... I had a lot of fun building this as well as frustration, but I learned a lot from it. |

First off, I think that this may be the ONLY lego Gabthley in existence. So, kudos to you for trying something new. Secondly, just as a mecha, on its own merits, this is one spectacular build, from top to bottom. The shapes, the innovative building techniques, the colors the details, everything on this is eye catching and well executed. As a model of a Gabthley, its even more spectacular. You've captured so many difficult design elements with this, such as the thrusters and the shoulder joints. Truly a great job on this. In response to your question about the Strike Freedom, yes, it is very poseable. It can do nearly every pose that an MG Strike Freedom model can do except for around the waist joint (it can rotate horizontally, but nothing else). Poseability is a huge must-have in my models for the most part, even though posing them is near impossible in LDD. |
