Exo-Force: Destroid Defender Titan
Inspired by the Macross Destroid Defender / Robotech Radar-X / Mechwarrior Rifleman. A custom creation as a tribute to Shoji Kawamori, designer of transforming robots for many anime shows.
About this creation
I originally wanted to design a Lego version of a mech from Macross - the Destroid Defender, a long-range attacker designed for anti-aircraft / anti-Zentraedi Pod roles on the exterior of the SDF-1 "Macross".

However, seeing as how my inspiration for this - Shoji Kawamori, a famous designer of anime mecha (including classic Transformers) - had been commissioned by Lego of Japan to create a custom mech for the release of the Exo-Force line in Japan (the new model, named "VAN Type", combined the first two models released - Stealth Hunter and Grand Titan - into a huge transforming aerospace plane), I figured it would be appropriate to try my hand at an Exo-Force custom inspired by one of his original mechs from the Macross series instead of an exact replica.
