Did this for a school project.
Ship is a 22-gun Imperial designed warship. 9 guns face port and starboard, 2 guns face fore and aft.
-Bow and Stern from Black Seas Barracuda, as well as five of those middle pieces.
- Three boats. A sail is stored in the hold for the captainís boat.
- Main deck hinges open to reveal the main gun deck. In this deck the cannon rounds are stored between each cannon. There are tables set up for crew to eat, and hammocks to sleep in. Access to the lower deck is via a small hatch behind the bow guns. Also, the entire bow hinges open to reveal a storage room. This room doubles as the carpenters workspace and an operating room. The poop deck opens to reveal the captains cabin. Inside the captains cabin there is a table, maps, and a small stash of weapons for the officers. The floor of the captains cabin opens to reveal the stern storage space. I admit it is very difficult to manipulate objects in this hold. Stored here are some of the small arms for the crew, food and water barrels, two extra cannon, flags, extra oars, and the chest for some of the officers. I do not have pictures of the lower decks yet b/c I am waiting on some specialty pieces to complete these areas.
I have a crew of about 30 ready to man this ship, and I am working on getting together a small contingent of marines.
Sorry for lack of quantity and clarity of images. This ship was just my first experimentation, a larger ship is soon to come.
Please be critical of my ship, this is my first MOC after my LEGO hiatus, so any suggestions will help.
The Black Seas Barracuda... 80's flashback! I too have that set and you did a great job expanding it to make it even more impressive, even though it flies the imperial flag. Nice job expanding the hull length and upper deck for the additional weapons and storage! The rest of the series had a smaller imperial ship and an imperial fortress for certain, have them as well. But, I think there was also a pirate island and a couple more smaller sets I think.
You just earned 5 bald, golden heads my friend! This is absolutely stunning! The ONLY thing I see that could be improved would be to cover the floor with the flat smooth pieces. It looks great either way! I hope to see more MOCs from you.
What a huge ship model! It reminds me the early 1990's when I always wanted this ship too, but I couldn't afford it because it was too expensive. Always good to see someone builds a moc of something from the old school period.
I love the multiple deck design...it's awesome. If I had one suggestion, it would be to add more colour at the back in yellow, the windows look obviously different pieces than the rest. It doesn't really flow. Other than that, this ship is awesome! Great building here.
