The following series of photos show us their large multi-role ship. This was originally constructed to serve as a the fleet's 'workhorse'-type of ship. It was classified as the Galaxy Explorer. Here, this particular version M is on a routine exploration on a volcanic planet. They landed near the foot of an extinct volcano, notice the black basalt strewn on a lava plain that is predominant in this area. The spiky 'growths' are of interest to the survey team.
About this creation
The wings on version M (for Modified) were replaced with their current standard parts. This model was refurbished and refitted in the moon-base docks. That's the reason why it looks bright and new. All the aging parts, especially the wings, were removed. The explorer's base can be seen nearby.
Top view of the Explorer. Nothing was changed except the wings. The landing area was blasted to smoothness and paved with basalt blocks.
A closer look at the ship. Right beside it is the buggy. Looks like they are doing a routine check of the ship.
The buggy can fit inside the cargo hold of this ship.
Side profile of the ship.
The base has a very large communication-gear array. It was situated on top of a leveled basalt formation to get a clearer reception. The top of the volcano would have been ideal but the caldera lip is very treacherous terrain, not to mention there is no way the ship could land safely.

Open hatch. The hold has ample space.
