I built this little fighter a while ago, but just hadn't gotten around to posting it. This is one of those little side projects that slows down progress on the battlecruiser.
The Avenger is a dedicated fighter-to-fighter combat craft, possessed of superb maneuverability, weapons targetting systems, and point-shielding. It can bring significant firepower to bear on multiple small targets simultaneously, but suffers from a lack of capacity for heavy ordinance that might damage larger ships.
Designed to give human pilots a chance to do something useful in the AI and substrate-integrated-arcane-entity dominated battle-volumes of space, the Avenger has a direct neural interface control system, which accelerates the function of the human brain, but causes neuron degradation over extended periods of use. As such these craft are generally kept close to their home bases and used only in the brief flurries of fighter combat. That said, the design is generally considered inefficient and outmoded compared to more compact, efficient, and reliable drone or AI fighters.
Very cool ship. It's tight, sleek and sexy! Good color combonation. What are those pieces that form the ovals (in black) in those three different places? One thing: it would be better to take the pictures inside. Outside shadows are created and take away from the detail. Other than that, great job!
