Yellow Jacket G1 Type Seeker Jet
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane. It's..yep it's a plane. It's the little known Decepticon Seeker Yellow Jacket. Armed with his stinger missiles and arm mounted cannons, he can certainly make life interesting for the Autobots.
About this creation

I decided for my second MOC to try to give life to my LDD Starscream. It sort of worked. During the creation I realized I didn't have enough of the right color bricks. So, I went with what I had the most of, consisting of black, yellow and white. I figured the black and yellow looked best and that's where the name for the creation came from. I took the photos in two different places on my desk to see how they would turn out. Any feedback on this one? As I said Yellow Jacket is based off the LDD design which is based off the figure, seen in a couple photos for comparison. We'll start off with the jet mode first..

Here they both are in jet mode for comparison. And now robot mode...

Yeah, there's part of my custom desktop background behind him.

A few differences between the real and LDD design are noticable. After viewing Chris Roach's way of adding 'fingers', I adapted that idea into my jet. Although, they're slightly mismatched and only 3 on each hand. lol I also added the 'stinger' missiles, mounted under the forearms. Their name derived from the name of the creation. I think it fits. He's more articulated and a lot easier to pose than Unicron without the fear of him falling over. Also, I learned the LDD version shouldn't stand properly. During initial construction I learned that the telescoping legs compressed under the weight. To remedy that, I designed a rotating panel on the legs to lock them into place which is shown further down. I took the wing cannons off to ensure they wouldn't obscure anything for that.

The tail wings keep the panels in place which keeps the legs in touch with the body in jet mode.

The tail wings are rotated 45 degrees allowing the panels to swing out. Then the legs can slide partially down. The entire panel, connected to the sliding internal leg, is rotated 180 degrees and the legs are slid completely out.

Once the legs are slid out, the panel swings down flush with the body once more and tail wings complete their rotation to cover the ends of the panel, keeping them in place and preventing the legs from collapsing.

Quoting COMMANDER SCAR That is so awesome!!! (much better than i could ever do).
Thanks. Don't sell yourself short. I saw your G1 Shockwave and you did a very good job! I'm sort of new at making MOC's myself. Making them to transform just takes time and patience. Using models to duplicate helps by having you use different ways to connect parts and have them move. Take your time and I'm sure you'll be able to make your Shockwave transform in addition to other great ideas.

Quoting JS Can Pretty good job
Thanks. I took a look at your page as well. I see you're in the same predicament as I. I have only a few sets with which to build. It's limiting but, adds to the requirement of creativity.

Quoting Toa M. Awesome! I love the leg design and face, great work on those!
Thanks! One of the things I don't like about the legs though is that the upper part looks a bit skinny. That's something I'm looking to try to avoid with my next legoformer.

Quoting Chris Roach cool dude! Nice to see it in the brick!
Thanks. Thinking of ways to incorporate that sliding leg concept into the targetmaster idea.
