The Battle For Clonetard City continues, as usual. Gunfire goes back and forth, armour gets melted, all the usual things.
About this creation
Well, somebody's a crater now.
Here's where we were at the end of the previous turn.
First off: the Invader missile tank lets loose another volley, stripping off some more armour from the Marauder Malefactor's arm, torso and legs.
It also fires its hull mounted MG at the Wraith downrange, but misses.
Then: Sergeant Smith's Caracal continues to participate in the melee, firing at the enemy Banshee. The damage is notable, but not severe.
He is the victim of the aforementioned Wraith, which strips off a great deal of armour from his right arm, left leg and right torso. Among that damage is the destruction of a heat sink, reducing his already insufficient heat disapation capabilities even further.
As a consequence of the extreme heat he's built up, some of the artificial muscles in his machine begin to twitch uncontrollably, reducing his accuracy. They also have reduced power efficiency, slowing him down. Alarms sound and an automated reactor shutdown cycle begins, but fortunately for him he manages to override it.
Over by the Chimera, things get messy. Firstly they blast off some more armour, but that isn't a problem. The problem is that while they were doing so they managed to bore a couple of small holes in their unwilling host's center torso with concentrated lasrifle fire, smashing part of his critically important gyro and, worse, most of the shielding on his reactor. In fifteen seconds, half the platoon is condemned to a slow and painful death by radiation poisoning, and the other half permanently lose their reproductive prospects.
For their victim, his sealed and shielded cockpit protects him from the worst of it, but the heat spike caused by the damage renders his machine effectively useless; already capable of generating massive amounts of heat due to its typical House Hood focus on firepower over sustainability, it now cannot dissapate any heat at all without shutting down its reactor.
One of the soldiers, perhaps realizing his predicament, decides to go out with a bang, screaming "Vi hävdar detta mek för Sverige!" and ramming an ancient Swedish flag he'd been carrying in his backpack into one of the laser holes, sustaining fatal burns from the superheated armour plating in the process.
Next: the dying machine begins to topple, its pilot overwhelmed by the loss of armour and damaged gyro.
Sergeant Smith lets off another kick, mashing some more armour.
The Hood Caracal SE fires its missiles, which, while missing their target, ignite the surrounding terrain into a fiery inferno. The temperatures inside the conflagration would put most crematoriums to shame, and the crew of the mercenary assault tank inside simply don't have a chance. They attempt to withdraw, but have barely begun to move when the heat claims them.
The flames reach the ammunition magazines in the body of the vehicle, launching the turret high into the air and removing any need for a burial party.
Downhill: the Banshee launches itself into the air, aiming to land on its victim and crush him beneath its feet.
The Chimera crashes to earth, crushing more of its scanty armour along with ten probably rather lucky infantrymen. The rest of them are dislodged from the shock.
The Banshee misses due to Lady Luck's interference causing its target to take a step back.
It falls, and mashes all of the protection in the middle of its back and quite a bit of the arm defenses. The pilot crunches a rib and blacks out for a moment from the pain, but manages to remain conscious.

Try to overload your reactor core, and detonate your mech while near a high-value target. With any luck, the blast will take them with you, and the death pic would be AWESOME!
Generally speaking, a nuclear engine would never actually explode in the nuclear fireball sense unless it was actually designed to do so.

@ the king of geeks. You are shut down in terms of reactors. You can't do extravagant stuff like that. Right Areesta?
It's not shut down, it's got some holes in it. The problem is that now it can't dump waste heat, and has a partly busted gyro. You can have a look at how much damage Finn did to himself trying to get up for a reference as to what that means.

Can I have my cheetah back? I thought it was destroyed!
I don't know why you would, but okay.

OK, thanks. And can I have a look at my mech alone, in Lego?

Can I have the Chimera? Cause I will first move as close to an enemy as possible, then hit the big red button. SELF DESTRUCT!! KABOOM!!!How big would the blast radius be if I did that?
No self destructs in this. It's also currently lying on its back with a damaged gyro, which makes it much harder to get up.

Awesome! Um... can I be the Moffatt's Marauders Banshee D? If I can, what would I do?
'Aight. You've got an invite on your homepage to the associated group; what you want to do is look in the "Orders" thread to get a general idea of how it works. You may also want to look in "Rules", but that's only if you want a look "under the hood" so to speak and get a really in-depth look at how it works. It's rather daunting I'm afraid, but it's not too hard once you get a general idea of it. You can also check the older installments, but it's not vital, since this isn't really plot driven. The only plot here is a flimsy excuse to have two bunches of themed war machines killing each other. As for me, I always end up being awake far too early in the morning with these, this one's no exception, and it's time for me to retire for the night.
