while you can call the emerald neight 6 or 7 wide I adapted it to be 8 wide and have added some extras to it as well.
About this creation
-better lookig conecting rods
-9V and PF XL motor powering it alog
-name plate "SCOTT LIMITED"
-I think it looks better than the original and most things/detail
that have been added I think lego left out and they should have put
them in to the loco in the first place. All except the 8 wide part.
the train is made up of 2 emerald night kits and includes
the loco + larger tender + 2 pasinger car's.
over all it is a bit heavy so to make thigs lighter the passinger cars
have no inside detail and the PF XL motor is Powered off the 9V
motor to add more pulling power. also methalated sprits is used as an oil and splashed into the cogs to make them run smother and faster.
I had used an light lubccating oil (for exampal WD 40) but it got on the tracks so i went back to the methalated sprits as it avaperated and dosent make the track sippery and un- usable.
Nice job, I especially like the 8 wide train cars. I've started building 10 wide myself, 8 is good too, but LEGO's 6 wide is too small. - Though after looking at the price tag to make 8 and 10 wide I realize why LEGO only does 6. I had a simalar problem using graphite, it got on the wheels than the track and took several hours to clean off. Can you comment on my train?:
