The teachings of Zen meditation have served many a Samurai before my time well.
But my mind does not clear on this day.
For I have been struck mercilessly.
The fires of a bloody Hell ravaged our home.
"The boy," they said. But she held her honor and courage. And so they robbed me of my only family.
Now it is time to heal. It is time to rejuvenate. For I am strong.
Some pictures of the setting:
I've always admired the natural beauty and harmony of Asian architecture, and after seeing so many beautiful MOCs over the years within this genre I thought it was about time that I delved into the realm too. A lot of this was also inspired by Zen fountains.
I started working on this mere days before the tragedy in Japan. I attempted to symbolize the strength and courage of the Japanese people that has its roots from centuries long gone by. The strength that they will have to recover from one of the deadliest earthquakes in all of recorded history. Japan will heal, and the world will be there every step of the way.
Uncanny timing with these sentiments, but a wonderful, and poetic, entry for our team. I like the variety of elements, all well done. The black and white pics, including the baby in the basket, are very nice touches. I look forward to more of this quality from you in the rest of March.
I use constructive comments and also honest ones. It is my opinion that this is a very nice MOC and you have achieved almost completely the harmony and order that we found in Asian architecture, in particular with the "natural" part. However, even if the pagoda is of very fine (simple but nice) building, I guess it should be somewhat bigger to fit the minifig scale.
