The Decatur Class prefers looots of light firepower rather than several larger guns. I'd say it could rain 54 shells at you every ten seconds.
About this creation
Hello fellow MOCer/viewer(s)! The United Nations of Earth Navy's Decatur Class of battleships was designed for mass-bombardment of flak. It was manufactured by the; surprise, surprise; the Triton Construction Yards, which is the usual contractor for military ship construction in the UNE. Watch out COP! Enjoy!
A main ion-engine and 2 front maneuvering ion-engines.
As far as weapons go, the Decatur has a whopping 36 deck-mounted light coil-guns, a variety of missiles, (Lots of them, too!) and the giant Gravity-missile at the front.
Title picture, except unedited.
A different angle of the Decatur.
Forgive the wall in the background. My editing software was... acting up on me.
As for the light bluish grey disk on the ship; I put it there for visual effect. It doesn't serve a specific purpose; call it a storage dome or something.
The dark bluish grey disks, however are missile pods. The missiles them selves are stored in the front hull, which explains why there aren't guns covering that area, too.
I told you it had 36 guns. Pretty nice view of the bridge, too. Can you see the Captain in there?
Close-up of the complicated sensor-array.
The engine. Not much, really.
Port side. This is a decently long ship, at 37 studs long.
But enough of the top of the ship. Lets get too the bottom.
I'll start with the back and go to the front. (Although, there is no front or back in space.)
Notice how the Technic brick thats holding the engine aligns with the bottom of the ship. I'm quite proud of it. :)
As for the little slit in the right, its a hangar. (But in actuality, I couldn't fit anything that would cover it up.)
The 2x2 round tile is a docking platform for loading/unloading cargo/people.
It also has two lights; green for port, and red for starboard.
Not sure why the red 1x2 grill is there, but it looks good.
Now for the forward maneuvering engines; the larger one closer to the middle is one of the main maneuvering, while the smaller is for precise maneuvering.
The thing sticking out would be the ship's Gravity Missile.
I've said this before, but I'll just explain it again. A Grav-Missile is a missile that uses sub-atomic particles, compressed to the point of near-singularity, to create a small, temporary black-hole. (Or at least, as close to a black-hole as we can get.) However, so much energy is required to launch a Grav-Missile, that they are only used as a last resort. Only the largest ships in Earth's Navy have more than one.
nice add me to the group i have a nice ship coming is it ok if its a little black?

Excellent! Except that port is on the left side and starboard is on the right side.

As I said on Flickr, Awesome ship is awesome. Plus, don't tell Danny nor Awe: I prefer this design of yours over ours at COP. But shh, this is a secret. And I have to add that seeing these ships of yours makes me want to build more and moar just so I can match your skills.
