This is just an experiment by me to see how I would build a Dash CF. I think it came out pretty good, the biggest challenge was getting the side windows to be the same height and not blend into each other.
After building this, I am torn whether I should keep it or not. I want to keep it because this is, as far as I know, the first Dash CF built in real bricks in the Lego Fire Community. But I dont want to keep it because #1 the obvious reason, its not in the correct JLFD color scheme, and I would have to hunt down the correct red windows on brick-link. And #2 even though this is a Pierce, and I love Pierce, it looks like a PUC (which I am not a fan of at all) and it looks like it belongs on the streets of London, not Jakeland, NJ. So we will see what I decide to do.
Until then, enjoy! And as always comments and criticism is welcome!
Very nice work Matt! When I first saw you had a Dash CF I was hesitant to look at it because I was in the process of designing my own. But now that I have a chance to look at it, I see a lot of great details! You should check out my Dash CF if you have the chance. I'd love your opinion!
I apologize i guess i didnt realize the CF part. Just googled it, and in that case you did a great job with the windows! :P Never saw a Dash CF before. It seems like a huge step forward as a futuristic engine. I mean the window thing kinda made pierce itself look like it is copying Ferrara or kme but keeping the rear door window the same is one of the official trademarks of pierce i guess. very interesting :) Good Work. Dash CF demo has my vote to make it a part of ur department!
You did a nice job with this truck. However, there is only one CF, the Mack CF, and Pierce is trying to steal that name. This is one more reason for me to dislike Pierce. I say use this for parts and build an Arrow XT or a Velocity is proper Jakeland colors. Or better yet, build a KME or a Seagrave.
i know exactly what your talking about with the pierce windows. if you look at a arrow xt or a saber, the window on the door is bigger than the window on the cab. however, if you look at the dash cf, they are the same height. and the window on the cab is huge!
looks great. :) Not quite sure what you meant by the window thing. The windows in this truck come across to me as a KME because KME's have both the back windows tall and both the same height. Pierce on the other hand the back two windows are different height sizes. The only big noticeable difference i see in KME and pierce are windows and grills. other wise very similar. id only suggest making the middle window smaller. But it is still a great truck! I wish i would have used those windows in my KME lol. Which was originally a pierce but someone said it looked more like a kme so i made it more like a kme.
Excellent work Matt as always! Keep it up!
By the way, I'm surprised that Pierce couldn't be a little more original with their surname for the new Dash: "CF". There's only one true "CF" and it had a bulldog over the front grill.
I like it a lot, the lego version and the real thing. However, I'm not a firefighter so I don't have the experience to speak about pros and cons of how the design works in real life. From what I've seen it SEEMS like a good design and it looks cool. personally I could care less about Pierce using the "CF" name, I hear all it means is "Cab Forward"
Good build Matt, but I am kind of split on the Dash CF. I like that they're trying to go kinda oldschool, but I don't like that you can't have top mount pumps on it. Also deck guns over the pump are not possible either. And I'm not a fan of the PUC at all, but you did a good job building it as usual.
