The few, the proud, the Marines. Or are they? Some people keep insisting that the soldiers in Halo: Reach are actually the Army, not the Marines. That kinda reminds me of a quote from Die Hard 2:
McClane: "You just sit tight, and be ready to call the Marines."
Guy: "I thought they were the Army."
McClane: "Who gives a %*#@? Just be ready."
These particular decals were designed to be used on any color minifig. I chose sand green since I thought it was closest to the game's colors. Interestingly, this is the first time my off-color helmets have been canon. Some of the Marines seem to have helmets that don't quite match their armor color, as is refected in the official action figures.
There's also these guys: the heavy-armored soldiers who fight alongside the Chief on certain levels. Their armor is closer to Spartan gear and uses many pieces that are also available for your multiplayer Spartan, like the Military Police helmet, Gungnir shoulders, and Recon chest piece.
Here's a shot of all the Marines soldiers! I tried to cover most of the various armor and face variations, as you can see. I'm glad they kept in the eye-computer thingy on some. That's just classic.
Awesome Marines their very accurate, and you're right about what you call them I got the official Halo Encyclopedia Book by Bungie for Christmas and it says that their is only Unicom (marines) and Navicom (navy). You should join the The Spartans of Halo Universe.
Awesome. The majority of the troops in the game are Army, as they are assigned to planetside defense. However, the troops in the last level near the ship are Marines attached to the Pillar of Autumn - the reason the troops in the other games are marines is because the Chief is attached to the Navy, while Noble Team is with the Army.
I think it would be cool if you revisited your ODST pod.

Guy's right. They're the army. The army is the ground forces (as seen on Reach). The Marines are navy (as seen on Halo 1). Also, TF2 blokes? Sweet! "Who are you, captain of his fan club?" "No! That would be your mother!"

The UNSC branch you commonly encounter in Reach in in fact the UNSC Army Branch and yes, there are SOME marines. How do you know? 1.The UNSC concentrated forces by region and branch. Marines were somewhere else defending regions around CASTLE base,Air Force probably got small area like maybe islands or something..BEACHES or coast and I guess Army had the northern regions where Noble Team was. 2.By that time everyone else, marines, ODSTs, air force ect. was using the BR. The UNSC Army was still waiting to commision BRs, so they used the outdated DMR. So if they're using DMRs...they're the army. If they're using BRs...they're something other that army.
Quoting SPACE MARINE By the way, I've been looking at you MOCs for a while and it made me curious, will we ever see any StarCraft MOCs from you?
Dunno about StarCraft - right now I'm working on Team Fortress 2 minifigs, and after that I was planning to do some Dead Space. I have an ongoing poll topic on my forums about it, and I'm mostly following the results of the poll to see what games to make next. :)
That's awesome, my personal favorite is the one on the left in the second picture. The dark tan really looks nice. As always, it's obvious much effort has gone into your work.
