When I was younger, my grandfather would always tell me the story of how he saved the life of his neighbor who hated him. I learned the full details of the story when I was a little older, and here is the amazing story.
My grandfather lived in a small house in the countryside that overlooked a working farm. The owners of the farm were not friendly, and did not socialize that much with my grandfather's family. He later learned that the hostility was a result of the farmer having a distrust of Italian Americans. They ignored each other for many years until one day the farmer's prized bull got loose. The farmer lost his balance and fell down. The nasty bull gored the farmer while he was down on the ground, and the farmer was near death. My grandfather heard the commotion and rushed outside to intervene. He grabbed an umbrella on his way out the door, and proceeded to fight off the bull and save the man's life. He stuck the umbrella up the bulls nose and rendered it unconcious.
My grandfather recently passed away, and I decided to make this moc as a tribute to him. The building process was extremely emotional, and It was just what I needed to get some closure. I'll be presenting a revised version of this moc at the funeral service, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The Neighbor after being gored
Expect a revised version of this with better pictures soon!
Very touching story. My grandfather passed away in August 2010; he was an Italian American too. I know the pain you're probably feeling, because I've experienced it first hand. As far as the MOC goes, it looks fantastic! The bull looks sinister and mean; your grandpa must have been a very brave man to fight it. I'm sorry that he died.
