HK G36C [v3]
About this creation
HK G36C [v3] Extraction video!

Changes from [v1] include:
  • New, better shaped pistol grip
  • Vertical forehand grip attachment
  • Better extraction system
  • Smoother and cleaner charging handle
  • Better ambidextrous selector switch
  • Working magazine release lever

For those of you who may not know, I always print out a full scale photograph of the real gun (I check the dimensions) and overlay my creations on top to check for size and position issues. See the printout on my Brickshelf Gallery!

Updated G36C hanging on the wall. Everything attached and inserted, display photo.

Charging handle pulled back revealing the .223 Remington cartridge inside, partially extracted.

Charging handle pulled all the way back, cartridge has ejected.

Vertical grip removed, charging hadle pulled back halfway.

    Magazine removed.

Closeup of the breech. Apologies for the light gray and red. You can see the top of the magazine just behind the 1x2 jumpers in the breech.

Super-closeup of the piece that does the actual ejecting. I had to cut it to give me the correct angle once the round hits it going backwards. Glimpse of the bolt assembly, some of which is light gray.

Ambidextrous selector switch does nothing internally, but is visually precise. Now in safe mode.

Switched to semi-automatic. Depress the trigger and one round fires. Release and dpress the trigger again to fire the next shot.

Set to automatic. Depress the trigger and the magazine will empty very quickly.

View down the sights. Mad photography skills at holding the camera steady and aligning the sights with the gun on a very soft and bouncy surface, no tripod.

Yes, that is me holding it like a noob.

This is how hit what you want to hit. Look down the sights!

A detail angle on the rear sight.

A different angle on the rear sight.

A lot of you have asked and here it is. The G36C on top of the full scale printout. 1:1 based on acquired Wikipedia and HKPro dimensions.

Aha! I show you what I use to get clear photos. It is called a tripod and it has been very useful in low-light conditions. This allows me to disable the flash so I don't get a gigantic glare on the photo. I highly advise using a tripod if you have one available!!!

The printout itself. Four sheets of 8.5x11" paper.

Thanks for looking and please rate and leave a review.

Holy crap, such a nice gun ;_; A couple questions: 1. Do you build these for people, or do you let us build them ourselves? 2. If you do build for people, how much? 3. If we build it ourselves, is there any possible way to get the instructions, and where you buy the LEGO pieces, and how many of each piece? Thanks. Amazing design and build!

Quoting Da Leg0 FreaK 0.o =| -___- what is ur photo editing program?
I use an obsolete and outdated program called Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 Version 2. Yep, it's 9 years old but it still works great. I'll be putting this kind of info on my homepage. Thanks for asking.

Quoting xcal 13 wheres the print out?
Quoting Jake Tudisco where do you get your 1:1 scale print outs?
Quoting Sammy95 [BE] But where do you get the 1:1 scale pictures?
I use a photo editor to scale up the picture of the gun. For example, I look for the largest, clearest image of the G36C I can find. The photo may only be 1024x768 at most. Sometimes we can get lucky. I look up the size of the G36C and enlarge the image so that the size of the G36C in the image is the full size of the G36C in real life, in inches and/or millimeters. The photo comes out blurry, but all I need is the main shape. I hope this helps!

Well, Lawrence, I believe you have bested me in several aspects. I do not have a functional ejector, and you have an extremely realistic fire selector design. Also, your sights are better than mine and the magazine is curved. I didn't make my magazine curved because it took away from the structural integrity of the magazine. your stock also locks when it folds, and locks when it opens. I used a simple 2x4 plate on the bottom for this function. I congratulate you on an incredible G36c, and another incredible MOC. P.S. Please check out my G36c V.2, I haven't had the privelage of reading your review on it yet.
