About this creation
Itís been about a year since I uploaded my last chess set, a pirate one, as my first MOC. I think this is myÖ 23rd MOC. Yeah, I should probably save this one for the 25th or something, but Iím bored, and this was just sitting there. Believe it or not, this is actually the first chess set Iíve ever made. The pirate one came a little later. I got a $75 gift card to the LEGO store, and decided to spend most of it creating this thing. I bought all the pieces brand new, (though I lost some) created my own board. I had no idea MOCpages had existed then, and if I did, I didnít want to post. Later, after the pirate one I think, I decided to make a case. That case was broken when I moved, and I have only just repaired it. So, w/o further ado, here it is, my CLASSIC CHESS SET.
I lied. Of course Iím going to use this to shamelessly advertise my group, a LEGO chess group. Upload your chess creations and whatnot.
SoooÖ. w/o further ado, (for real this time) here is my CLASSIC CHESS SET
Birds Eye View.
Here you can see a bit of the case underneath...
Case w/o board or pieces.
Grey Wall separating the storage areas. I chose grey because it was a neutral color.
Black side of case
Case w/ board.
Pieces in opposite holding areas. Whoops. I didn't notice that until I uploaded it to the computer. You get the point though...
Castles/Rooks. I had to use different designs for them because I lost my earlier black rooks (which looked like the white ones), and didn't have the pieces to make them again. Funny thing though, when I DID have the black ones, I couldn't find the white ones.
Knight. Simple but easy to understand. Anyone could recognize that as a knight, don't you think?
Bishops. Meh. Could be better.
Queens. My least facvorite piece. I could've done so much better.
And the piece you've all be waiting for, the Kings. I'm rather proud of these guys.
Let the Game BEGIN!
Well, I'm off to work on othe projects now. Probably another chess set in another year or so.
