This American flag was built by my grandmother in 2006. This was her first time ever building with Lego and I'd say it's pretty good.
About this creation
Seeing how Osama Bin Laden was captured by US troops, I thought I'd upload this MOC. It is a huge sigh of relief to close this chapter on the war on terror, but the fight still goes on. My heart goes out to the thousands of family members and friends of the victims of 9/11 and other events smeared with terrorism. It is also nice to see US citizens ban together and display their patriotism in times of triumph (as evident by the hundreds of people at the White House). All I can say is that I'm proud to be an American.
I love the fact your grandMOTHER did it for several reasons: first an older person did it and second a FEMALE she bridged the gap between the two sterotypes: LEGOs are a kids toy and LEGOs are a boys toy! BRAVO for her! Now observe she bridged the gap! Now its our turn, if we are indeed PROUD AMERICANS we now need to bridge the gap that Laden's Murder may cause! We need to remember not ever follower of Islam (Muslims) is a lunatic, just as we needed many years ago realize NOT every German was a Jew Hater! We need like your Grandmother find creative ways to bury hate. Hey a 1st hand experience here...during the Viet-Nam war I served in the PEACE CORPS, the mention of the words: VIET-NAM brought with them bad memories! during the years I learned if I were a Christian, Italian-American I needed to realize not every Vietnamese was responsible for the loses in my friends and family. Ironically I am friends now with a Vietnamese family who own 5 Nail Shops!
When I need someone to take my picture (I live alone) the father takes it. The first time he entered my apartment I STOPPED and thought how years can change us! Let your grandmothers bridging the gaps teach all of us to heal we need to bridge the gaps as well! After all AMERICA is the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE!
Let us show our love of that freedom by being brave to forgive! We can do it one LEGO brick at a time!
A wonderful TRIBUTE to your Grandmother!
If you can post her picture!
Give her a big hug and kiss from me, Paul!
Nick as American as you can get!
