A scale model of the standard MAC equipped on frigates and destroyers

I took it upon myself to try and create an accurate model of the MAC on board light capital ships. I knew a few things about coil guns from the start. They compose of a few simple parts:
1) A linear accelerator (the 'barrel')
2) Capacitor Bank (Stores the electrical charge to power the propulsion coils)
3) Propulsion/Acceleration Coils (Electromagnetic Coils that provide a fluctuating magnetic field)
4) Power Input (In this case, the vessel's fusion cores)
Given the specifications of a UNSC frigate (478m length), I'd approximate the length of the accelerator to be between 150-165m.
This was the approximate size it resulted in.
The muzzle, which would extend past the hull.
Loading Mechanism-Likely consists of automated ammunition feed carousels, and heavy lift elevators to transport ammunition from the magazine compartment.
Magazine Compartment-Holds additional ammunition from the loading sections carousels, internal volume from this model suggests ~40m x 35m x 30m space, each projectile measures about 9m x 1m x 1m, thus giving room for about 2000-1800 shells (includes volume occupied by lift elevators and transport systems), seems like quite a bit, so I'd guess it'd be the entire ships armory (munitions for PDG's and infantry on board. In any case I'd expect standard load to be at least 100 shells.
Capacitor Banks- likely consist of multiple high capacitance capacitors (redundancy, I know...) connected in parallel to their respective coils.*UPDATED* 5/12/11: the approximate energy stored in the capacitor banks is about enough to run the city of Los Angeles for about 1 year. THAT IS A WHOLE LOT OF ELECTRICAL CHARGE. [refer to update farther down to understand energy consumption per shot]
For Destroyers the MAC is slightly modified, adding a second accelerator to the system.
This of course means, more loading elevators and carousels.
To truly appreciate the scale of this weapons system, you'll need to see it compared its respective vessel.
Frigate [Length: 478m]:
The frigate in comparison is the Savannah, an ongoing project of mine. [its just a frame at the moment, still needs solid construction]
As you can see the entire superstructure of the ship is built around the weapon system
Destroyer [length: 485m]:
UNSC Heracles, another ongoing project, it will be finished shortly.
Again, the scale of the weapon system, which should've technically included the fusion cores, but alas procrastination, schoolwork, and general lack of inspiration prevail.
A few side notes: -Sorry about the black folks, I would've used dark gray and tan, but those parts are currently being sectioned for the Savannah.
-The yellow, would've been all black, but i wanted it to say "Danger, Don't F***ing touch this!" *ahem* pardon my French there...
-No, I don't plan on constructing my current ships around it or my upcoming ships, although that would've been pretty neat...
-I am quite aware it looks like a hand-held weapon, Laser Rifle anyone [Fallout series]?
-Crunched the numbers, here's what i've got so far:
*Accelerator Length= 150m
*Final Velocity= 0.01c [3,000,000 m/s]
*Projectile Mass= 300 Tons [300,000 kg]
Results: (Per Shot)
-Kinetic Energy of Projectile: 1.35x10^18 joules
-Electric current required: ~2.12x10^11 Amperes
-Magnetic Field required: ~285 Teslas
-Explosive Equivalent of KE: ~323 mT [equivalent to 680 W88 Nuclear Warheads (equipped on the U.S. Trident II SLBM)]
What you're seeing is something absolutely ridiculous, as of yet i have not derived the exact amount of charge carried by the capacitor banks. If you want to know the absurdity of the values present, consult your local electrician or science professor/teacher [preferably a physics teacher], expect some gawking, laughter, or flat out awe.
Okay, so that about wraps this up.
