Brush 3 is a 2011 Ford F550 with a Brushfighter Walkway body. After Brushfighter finished the truck, it was sent to Bulldog Fire Equipment for the breaker bars. Brush 3 has a 500 gallon tank, a 150 GPM Waterous pump, and a 1" hosereel. It can carry six firefighters in full turnout gear, or seven in wildland gear. The nickname obviously comes from the breaker bars on the front of the truck.
Brush 3 is dedicated to Victoria Sheperd, my best and closest friend. Last month, she was involved in an MVA rollover, which made me realize how much she really meant to me. After you nearly lose your best friend, you begin to think about things more and cherish each moment you spend with them. She is one of the few who have earned -and will ever earn- a dedication in my department. This truck is for her. A permanent reminder of friendship, hope, trust... and love.
Well, here she is! Brush 3, our premiere wildland unit. This began as an "I'm bored, let's see what I can build" type of project. I ended up loving the truck, and put it on my purchase list. Let me know what you think. Credit to Christian Collins for the F550 cab. The base was his, but I modified it a bit. Some of my personal details are the running boards, bumper, breaker bars, and cab length. Thanks for the cab, CC! Hope this does it justice!
