Rescuing the Princess (Behind the Scenes)
Here are some of the working shots of this set. Took me about 24 hours of work to get it all to work. (The Emperor is most displeased with your apparent lack of progress. - My wife was displeased by my absence)
About this creation
Here is the cell block command post. There are security cameras on the walls. The elevator opens to this area. (Actually the 'elevator' has a front and back door but doesn't go up and down.)

Here is Leia's cell with the set doors open so you can take photos.

This is the hall way when it isn't cluttered with Rebels and blaster bolts. The roof actually pops off so you can take overhead shots. It connects directly through a chute with the garbage masher.

Here is an overview of the garbage masher which really works. This took the longest time to create. It uses technic pieces including axels and gears and the toothed 4x1 bricks that the gears can rotate on. Getting it to glide and not bind up was tricky. In the end it moved smoothly.

Here is a "working parts" view with the walls open.

Now the walls are closed.

Boy, I wouldn't want to be squished in there with trash, a dianoga, a farmboy, and a fuzzball. But Leia would be okay.
