Modified Street Speeder
This is a mod I did for set 6743, it now has opening hood and trunk as well as doors.
About this creation
pre mod:
I modified this car for three main reasons: 1. I thought it would be fun. 2. The original set was kinda boring. 3. I wanted to do a short stop motion police chase and needed more cars that could fit Minifigs. Originally I had just planed to make it hold a Minifigure, but later I decided to go for the whole deal and make it have opening trunk, opening hood, and a detailed engine.
Moding the car:
Modifying the car to hold a Minifig wasnít that hard. I probably spent half an hour making that modification, although probably only 15 minutes of that was building, the rest was deciding whether I wanted to take out those nice tan seats or raise the roof another plate. I ended up taking out the tan seats and having the Fig sit on the plate that made up the bottom of the car since making the roof another plate higher (I had already raised it one) just didnít look right. I also had to move the steering wheel and dashboard up one stud. Later I decided to make it have an opening hood and trunk, this was considerably harder. It probably took me 3-4 hours to do this, in part because it was really hard to do that while keeping the outside look of the car the same and also because I was really low on parts (if you notice the inside of the hood is blue!). The hood was the hardest, it was hard to make it go up with the windshield. I tried making the front of the car longer and taller but this didnít work so I just made the hood shorter.

What I started with:
Set 6743, LEGO Creator Street Speeder:

End result:

Opening parts:

The engine, a V6:

As you can see I pushed the steering wheel forward and took out the nice seets :( I also added a gear shift and hand brake.

Mr. Cool failing his driving test by not keeping both his hands on the wheel:

I have made more improvements to this MOC. The outside still looks about the same, but the interior has been vastly improved. I also made a lot of changes to the front and rear for improved realism in the trunk design and engine placement. I may or may not make a new page for it, I might just add the updates to this page.

Quoting lego builder awesoooome. you sould post the instructions for digital designer ;)
Maybe, I don't build much on LDD, if feels to boring compared to being able to hold the parts. I would seem strange to build something I already have. If I do make directions, you will be the first to know! :)
