Seeing the lack of LEGO SC2 Firebats and Marauders, I decided to try my hand at these awesomely-unrealistic BAs. Oh the pain. It took me an entire day to figure out the basic design starting with the simpler Firebat model. Then it took me weeks of on-and-off mulling (the on periods lasting anywhere from a few hours to an entire day) trying to make satisfactory shoulder-pads, arms, grenade launchers, and backpack for the Marauder. I also made face decals since I couldn't (read:wouldn't) think of any other way to do the heads. I picked colors based on a combination of portrait, in-game, and Armory models, as well as for parts considerations. I'm actually happy with how these guys turned out. Hope you do too. Or else. :)
I'm not even going to bother with tubingˇ¦
I can see how my old Terran marine, firebat, and medic were probably a bit tall. I did do a pretty good job though at making those MOCs look normal-sized, didn't I?
Yeah yeah, I kinda cheated with using rubberbands here. Oh well, at least they're official LEGO rubberbands!
My goose is getting cooked? Hopefully this shot can clear up some questions on how I put these two together. I did use modified pieces. However, the only modded pieces I used are rods (read:Harry Potter wands) that were cut in half years ago, and the face decals, if you count those as modded pieces. The rods hold the legs together at the pelvis joint (just like with my old marine, firebat, and medic) and they're what makes up the marauder's top barrel-thingy. However, these half-rods can be replicated the purist way by taking hard LEGO rubber tubing and then cutting a desired length for use.
Ils sont super beaux ! Pourriez-vous m'envoyer les instructions, ou quelques photos montrant comment ils sont faits, s'il vous plait ?
They're great ! Could you please send me instructions, or some pictures showing how they're made inside.
Sadly, I've never played StarCraft or its sequel... I plan on picking them up eventually, though. So instead of gaming experience to compare your MOC with, images I've seen will have to suffice. And from what I HAVE seen... dang, man, you're spot on!
