Dedicated to Elisabeth Sladen
(1 February 1946 - 19 April 2011)
About this creation
Elisabeth Sladen was an English actress best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in the British television series Doctor Who. She was a regular cast member from 1973 to 1976, alongside both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and reprised the role many times in subsequent decades, both on Doctor Who and its spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Sarah Jane: “Goodbye, Doctor.”
The Doctor: “Oh, it's not goodbye.”
Sarah Jane: “You say it, please. This time. ... Say it.”
The Doctor: “Goodbye. ... My Sarah Jane.”
Sarah Jane: “K-9!”
Sarah Jane: „But you were blown up.”
K-9: “The master rebuilt me. My systems are much improved with new omni-flexible hyperlink facilities.”
Sarah Jane: “He replaced you with a brand-new model.”
Sarah Jane: “Yeah. He does that.”
This scene was one of her last appearances on Doctor Who (Doctor Who 2005 - Season 2 Episode 3: School reunion) and had a great impact on me.
I created this vignette as a LEGO® equivalent to a triptych. It will decorate my living room table for two or three weeks and I’ll be able to rearange it a few times when I get tired of it.
For those of you who want to build their own K-9, here are the building instructions:
Two more shots of the vignette:
Sarah Jane: “Come on, you. Home. We've got work to do.”

after the passing of elizabeth sladen, i myself made a lego memorial. this is brilliant and captures if not one of the most hard hitting scenes in the new series of dw, except for the way the ponds leave . :)
I used to be a Dr.Who fan, I need to catch up! I love the way you did the instructions for K-9! Please ome by and look at my Space Police Dog House and the review I did on Sean's new book: COOL CITY! Also give a peekat my Alice in Wonderland sets!
I've never seen a vignette presented in this manner. The multiple sections are beautifully done and the effect is really stunning. I sort of wish that I watched this show so that I knew what you were talking about, but the wow factor is still not lost on me. Very impressive display!
Quoting The Essence Of Randomness .
BTW the Docs hair shouldn't be ginger, as when he regenerates he's like "Still not ginger!"
I know. The problem is, I think the hairpice is perfect for Tennant, but it doesn't come in brown or dark brown. Maybe I should use the black one or customise it, since I'm planning to do an 11 Doctor Poster and there I'll use customised parts anyway.
Oh, I've got something that might make you happy. My summer lego project is an eighth doctor blue box interior, and now that I have enough funds for bricklink, I'm working out some plans in LDD. Recently, I've been thinking about putting away the bricks though, which is scaring me a bit.... trying to ward it off..... just 2 years and I'm in the clear hopefully. Thanks for all the support, Mr. Xenomurphy. And again, an excellent MOC!
I'm a Yank, and I've only seen a few of the more recent Dr. Who shows. I must say, though, that this scene is filled with great emotion. I have little doubt that she was one of the most dynamic characters and people that show had.
This MOC seems to echo the pathos and the emotions of the scene quite well. DW is a perennial favorite and this episode in particular was an emotional roller coaster. Excellent choice in the faces to match the actor/actress...
Excellent MOC. Absolutely excellent. A perfectly executed dedication. Elisabeth Sladen shall always be missed, always a never healing hole in our hearts. I'm a big fan of Doctor Who, although I haven't seen much pre-Eccleston. Enough blubbering from me, though, it's your spotlight. 10/5, nay 100/5 just because it almost brought me to tears :')
Man that last shot in particular, very moving. Death is a sad destination we must all visit eventually, best enjoy the journey as we much as we can. Great Moc and pres, you are probably too good to work for TLG...
Every vig of yours is something special. This time the reference sets a certain mood to it. The presentation is flawless. The technique for those hedgerows is clever and K-9 is perfect. Love that last shot.
Great landscaping, this scene was one of my favorites of the second series and of the first four only to be topped by Agatha Christie and also Donna in Fires of Pompeii when she has the doctor just save someone.
You, Mr. Xenomurphy, are now on my favorite list. And not only because Doctor Who is almost my favorite show of all time, but also because your creations are absolutely brilliant...Absolutely brilliant...Now on to the creation. Awesome. Need I say more? Okay, Amazing, brilliant, cool, sweet, epic, nice, all words that describe it. I think you captured the scene perfectly!
