Forced perspective is much easier when you want to make a window and a microscale town. I'm afraid your try wasn't very successful (in my opinion), because nothing in this landscape, save the burning base, denotes smaller scale, and because of the quality of your camera the burning base can be hardly seen. Use natural light or some lamps, it improves the quality. Maybe a bigger base, with a PART of it burning, could convey the feel of distance better. The FP landscape is nice, but the rest is pretty dull. I just don't like the bare baseplates- add some tiles, creates, or even a building. You can landscape, too, But don't leave an empty baseplate. Now to the mech: I really like the legs, that's a great use of slopes and curves, but when the legs connect to the body they seem too wide when compared to the torso. I would give you more specific advice, but you didn't take pictures of the front. Oh, now I found the mech's individual page- next time you do it, link between pages. It's much easier to see. To sum up: When you make FP, make sure you can convey as the small scale- by microscale vehicles, for example, or small unnatural structures that really look like small buildings. The landscaping is nice, but there is a blatant lack of details. PS: Try to change a bit to your description and make it more interesting- Commander Hedzet, for example, uses first-person narratives; he writes "reports" as description. I really like it, because it makes you tell the story in the past tense, that's really unique. It's a nice entry, but there are still things to improve. Good luck, Commander Mitchell!
The mech looks pretty good, but I'm no real judge of that since mechs aren't my thing. It does have a solid core, which I believe a mech would need, and is definitely bringing the metal to the Crimson Freedom forces. I like the action, but I agree with the others on the forced perspective attempt. It's very difficult to pull off (I've never been able to do it), but if perhaps if there were a small destroyed building between the battlefield and the destruction in the difference it serve as a transition to the microscale destruction.

Commander Mitchell. Combined Echelon Metal OPS. Nice. Three separate units converge on one objective. Forced perspective is a very tricky business. I have never been able to make it work. Heck I have never even attempted it. Angel of the shots is crucial in FP. Good first try! Another Metal Victory.

Commander Mitchell. Another fine victory and a great forced perspective attempt. Commander Rutherford is correct that camera angle is everything in FP. I tried FP in my Episode V Space Slug MOC. Did your mech got it's hands washed before this meal? You should really care about higiene of your mechs, I heard those Crimson thugs are hard to digest. ;) Sweet MOC! I'm glad there's going to be some serious action.
