Fragment of a report from Terran Astronaut Crew ANH IV
About this creation
Planet x450 a.k.a Ur
Planet type: Terrestrial/rocky
Description: Ur is very similar to parts of our own home planet, Terra. It has an arid climate and is geologically active. Much of the water is found underground and, due to the lack of groundcover and plants, the atmosphere has less oxygen than our own. However, it is foreseeable that our people could survive here in the future if our lungs adapted to the difference. The pressure of the planet is similar to our own.
Native population: The Urliens have been helpful to us. They seem to be a peaceful people who subsist on irrigation-based farming and use geothermic energy…
Files regarding Planet x450. Code name “Ur.” The following is a journal recovered from a satellite in near orbit to Terra.
This is Base Chi. It was pretty normal until a few weeks ago. It’s near a remote polis. Like any other Urlien base, we have a garden and use geothermic energy (our sauna is one of its benefits). Ur is pretty arid and dry, so we have to be really careful and irrigate water for our crops. We also have vents (like on our base) that collect water from the air so that we can use it inside for cooking and cleaning.
This is Pericles launching in his custom-made ship from our base.
Leo (short for Leonidas) spends most of his time on the look out tower.
Ariadne can’t seem to stay away from the kitchen. She loves to use the fresh vegetables from the garden.
Our base also has a computer for monitoring seismic activity since we use geothermal energy.
But recently there have been some new arrivals on our planet, the Terrans.
Our garden has a variety of plants!
We’ve been teaching the Terrans how to farm in our harsh climate. We use irrigation to move water from underground lakes to the surface. Here’s Cassandra teaching Brian.
The Terrans built a train to move our produce across the planet and share resources.
We’re learning about their home planet and their habitat needs.
While they learn about our planet’s ecosystem and share it with their friends on their home planet.
We also have some fun! Here’s me, Zeke, hanging out with my friend, Jeff, in our natural sauna, provided by our planet’s seismic activities.
They’re getting really good at navigating Ur’s harsh environment.
But sometimes they still need help! Here’s Jason with Terran astronauts Dave and Hal.
