Tiny NYC landmarks
The Chrysler Building, the CitiGroup Center, the Empire State Building, the UN, and the Woolworth Building, all very small. Each is no more than a few inches tall.
About this creation
Over a weekend I made some super-tiny scale New York City landmarks. Each is no more than a few inches tall... I built the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the UN, the Woolworth Building, and the Citigroup Center

The brickshelf folder has additional pictures of my models, plus real-life photos.
Hope you like them.  I really had fun building these mini-models, and I'll
probably add to this collection with some more buildings soon.

The Citigroup Center (formerly the Citicorp Center, formerly the Citibank Center) :) , which you can see above, has a recessed plaza, St. Peter's church, and an underground subway line.

The Woolworth building was a quickie, (see the Brickshelf Gallery for pictures) just a simple rendition of the classic

   Chrysler Building

This was built after a request from a fan of my other mini buildings, and it was a huge challenge. It ended up a little larger than the rest, mainly because the spire required a lot of space. ....The spire was the hardest part, and I am happy with the results that I finally got. I then spent a lot of time tweaking where to put the gargoyles and other things.

   Empire State

The Empire State Building was inspired by (and modeled after) Rick Ruiz's
mini Empire State Building
.  I added the "red white and blue" nighttime lighting, and modified the base a bit from his design. Seeing his model on Brickshelf inspired me to do all of these mini NYC models you see here.

   The UN

The United Nations. Plaza has the Secretariat building, the General Assembly building with its dome roof, and, of course, lots of flagpoles. There's another picture in the Brickshelf gallery where you can better see the highway (FDR Drive) that runs underneath.

Wow! What can I say? These microfig creations capture the spirit of these NYC landmarks beautifully. The underground section with subway tracks and platform is a wonderful, humorous, and just plain cool detail.
