United Socialist Russian Republic Mi-21 "Val'kiriya" helicopter
About this creation
The Mi-21 "Valʹkiriya" (Valkyrie) is a small, lightweight air-to-surface attack helicopter adopted by the USRR's Ground Defense Force. The Mi-21 can achieve a top speed of 400 kilometers per hour and has a range of 1500 kilometers non-stop without refueling. The Mi-21 primary armament system, the S-53, consists of one 25mm GSh-25 autocannon at the nose, a three-barreled AK-630B 30mm gatling gun and four 152mm 9K77 "Gadyuka" (Viper) ATGMs.
The pilot's windscreen is electronically enhanced to provide night-vision and infared vision at the push of a button. The windscreen alsi functions as a HUD, tracking targets and providing the pilot with crucial data on his movements and surroundings.
The low profile of the Mi-21 reduces its silhouette and provides less of a target for an enemy
The AK-630B "Vypryamitel" (Eliminator) gatling gun fires 30x167mm depleted uranium rounds at 2000rpm. At a distance of 500 meters the round will penetrate an upwards of 33cm of reinforced armor plating
Due to the enormous fire rate, only 10 seconds of sustained firing can be produced.
The GSh-25 autocannon fires 25x137mm armor-piercing-incendiary-explosive rounds at a steady rate of 220rpm. The rounds will usually penetrate <16cm of reinforced armor plating at medium range
Armor on the Mi-21 is classified, but it is comprised of a composite of ceramics, plastics and metal
The 9K77 "Gadyuka" (Viper) is a laser guided 152mm air-to-surface ATGM. It has multi-mission, multi-target precision-strike capability, and can be launched from multiple air, sea, and ground platforms. It is the standard missile payload on the Mi-21
A unique tail boom was incorporated into the design of the Mi-21 to give it better stability in maneuvers.
