Riots on Charybdis IX
This is a short story to foreshadow where members of the group 'The Insurrection' will be deployed next. As always, find the hidden skull.
About this creation
Planet Backround

Charybdis IX had been a mining world, run by corporations. Every aspect of the workers' lives was controlled by the companies; they bought food and supplies from company markets, lived and paid rent for company-provided habitats, etc. Soon the pay was simply insufficient to make up for the workers' cost of living, leading to intense rioting. Scyllion had long been a city of political turmoil. Insurrectionists were a constant problem.
The local Insurrectionists have persuaded a large amount of the city’s population to take to the streets, and take what they rightfully deserve by force.

A UH-144 Falcon flies above the capital city of Scyllion. Onboard are two Special-Operations personel and three normal marines.

Special Operations Marine, Staff Sergeant Greska- Welcome to Scyllion boys, famous for its angry people and violent riots.

Koplas (center seat)- What? We were dragged out of Eridanus II for riot control? Can’t local law enforcement handle that?

Greska- They can, but not when armed Insurrectionists are present. A large group of them have taken over Scyllion’s library, we need to take them out.
Hannah (other Spec-Ops Marine)- So why not just send in a battalion of Marines to suppress them?
Greska- If the UNSC goes in guns blazing a few civilians will get caught in the crossfire. Our mission requires stealth…

…so do what you can to calm your nerves, I don’t need anyone shooting at every shadow.

Greska- This roof looks good pilot, land here.

Fron (far left)- Bit of a hike to the library.
Greska- Any closer’s too hot to land. We need to move up the street team.

Greska- Hannah, set up there and cover our advance. We’ll link back up at the intersection.

Hannah proceeded to set up a sniping position on the banks roof.

Hannah- I’m in position.

Greska pulled out the rope he had…

…and tossed it down.
Greska- Peterson, attach the ropes end to something, I’m going down.

Greska- The natives are restless.

The rioters below smashed open a shops window, and were about to loot its contents.

Another was setting random buildings ablaze with flaming spirits.

A doctor examined a few dead officers in riot armour. He couldn’t help the dead men.

Hannah- I can’t see any rebels, you’ll have to clear the street.
Greska- Roger.

Greska pulled out his sidearm and fired a single round into the air.

The rioters either dove down, or scattered.

The four marines rappelled to the ground.
Greska- Fron, Peterson, defensive positions. Koplas, help me secure these bodies.

Koplas- Damned rioting bastards. Killing the police.
Greska- This isn’t their work. The rioters may get violent, but they wouldn’t kill and none of them had an MA2B, see those bullet wounds?

Fron- Agh!

Peterson- Man down!

Peterson- Ugh!

Greska- Koplas, get over here!

Greska- Shit.

Greska- Hanah, a sniper is taking us out! Hanah?

Greska- Son of a--

Greska curses, and wonders what he is going to do.

Insurrectionist- Don’t move! Drop your weapon!

Two captives, taken by rebels.

Fourth Wall ommentary.

The figs, I don’t feel up to making them up-right again.

I tried my best to make the structures look right, after all this is the 2500s.

This is an apartment building, on the ground floor is a store.

This is the local bank, actually just a small section of it.

Pillars, common with banks, are beside the door.

Architectural details.

Some more details.

There is only one part of the build that has a detailed interior.

The roof, a combination of SNOT, and studs up.

Behind the scenes, literally.

Halo Truck, take one. It doesn’t look to appealing to me, so I’m going to rebuild the cab and bottom section. I like the back though.

Screenshot time! Sorry, the quality is bad.

I took this a while ago. I was playing Reach in the armour type I call ‘Caboose’, in the mission ‘Winter Contingency’. Anyway, I hoped on a Falcon shortly after Jorge talked to suspected insurrectionist, and flew with it. It must have hit a kill boundry because I died. After the mission, I went into theatre mode, and took this screenshot.

Very good build, I really like it. Why do you hold the camera instead of putting it on a pile of books? It's much more steady when you use a stand.

Sweet comic! The building is well done, and it looks like you really did get a two-in-one deal with that Pereguin/Falcon. And the skull was way too easy to find, haha.

Sounds like I'll start to have some fun with my urban building in this mission set; nice way to show us the way. You weren't kidding when you said you had both a Falcon and a Pereguine :P As for the build, great detailing on the main building, and the pillars on the bank are a nice touch, albeit better if they were white, which they cannot be anyways. Great job!
