One of the few Fezzas I actually like. I tried to make this one really detailed, but I fear that in my enthusiasm I may have crowded the car. So it turned out pretty bad IMO :(
About this creation
Right, so this is my first ever MOC of a real car.
I happy with how the front section turned out, but I wish I could work out a way of making the bonnet intakes.
The rear and sides I'm not so happy with, they look messy. So I'll probably have another try soon.
The front looks very typically Ferrari.
The side is where it really went wrong. I tried to make the intakes accurate but having them slope into the car, and by having the top one longer than the bottom one. But I feel it looks bad. The car also seems a bit too long.
The rear looks a bit better straight on, like this. I know the tail lights are supposed to be round, but I had to make them square, as otherwise the red from behind would ruin the black "mesh" that's in that area. I used a 1x2 grey piece as the 3 tail pipes. I was going to use binoculars, but that would only be two pipes, plus it didn't attach well.
The top view is the most accurate. However, once again there are problems. The spoiler is a little too thick. In a perfect world, it would be 1 and 1/2 studs thick, but of course one cannot do this. So 2 studs will have to do.
My favourite angle. Even though it didn't turn out as good as I imagined, I'm still glad I gave it a shot. Also, this is my quickest ever build. I made it in about half an hour, so that might explain some of the roughness.
Fun Fact: I replaced the light bulbs in my room, so the colour on the photos came out a bit better n_n
Hope you all like it more than I do, and I would urge all Ferrari purists to not kill me, cheers ;)
Quoting MortalSwordsman .
I hope you didn't take offence I meant it respectfully :) Good luck with V2 and your transformer (if you choose to build one), I am going to start my next one today.
Hahaha, don't worry, I didn't take offence. n_n Any suggestion or comment you wish to make is more than welcome (unless it's something utterly disrespectful of course) :) Good luck with your next transformer! I probably won't make one for a while.
Haha. I don't normally make suggestions but as this is a small and quick build I thought it would be worth saying. I hope you didn't take offence I meant it respectfully :) Good luck with V2 and your transformer (if you choose to build one), I am going to start my next one today.
Thanks for the suggestion! It never occurred to me to try that. I just swapped them and it looks great :D I had previously seen (and commented) your F40, and yes, it is just a tad bigger ;)
I have to agree, it isn't as accurate as I hoped. I've been thinking up ideas since I made this version, so I should be able to improve on the design :)
I'm glad you like it :) But I'm going to try to prove you wrong about it being as good as it can be at the scale ;) Look out for V2! n_n
Love it. Very difficult to build at this scale no doubt. The only thing i would change - swap the clear cheese wedge with the red one behind (at the front) so the lights are closer to the nose. But I expect you tried that and decided against it. One of my favourite cars of all time. I have also built one but mine is a tiny bit bigger. Great job :).
Although it's far from being accurate, this is definitely an inspiring creation. Before this model appeared, I don't even have a clue how to make an F40 (in micro scale).Thank you so much for posting it.
