Messerschmitt Tiger WIP 2 ... Help !
Second work in progress - here's to most of the bodywork being done !
About this creation

Wow, this one's coming together quickly. As always, the size is never much of a problem - it's finding the parts, and working out how to do the awkward bits. The building itself is usually the quickest part (unless you count building it more than once when some bits get redesigned, or other bits constantly break...)

Anyway, here's what I've been up to (more photos at the bottom)... and what I'm needing help with...
As you saw, the wings had already been built - in fact they were one of the first bits I did, as I thought they'd be one of the main hurdles in making the car.
Since the first WIP page, I've built the rear boot (meaning the whole bodywork of the rear end firewall backwards, covering the engine) which was a real challenge... like the real car, the entire rear bodywork lifts off so you get full access to the engine. There's also a small hinged flap on the boot that can open, like the real car (albeit with a different kind of hinge... again, lego poses some restrictions sometimes...the best example being the side panels. In real life, they're about 1-2mm thick, with interior panels no more than 1cm thick attached on the inside. In 1/5.5 scale, the lego side panels would have to be wafer thin, yet if anything it's the other way round, with the 1-wide bricks being way thicker on the model than the panels on the real car... leaving me no space to make or attach interior...). Building the portholes, and getting the shape right were very difficult, though I eventually got it, and the outcome is very satisfying - the rear-on photo showing just the back end of the car llooks great in my opinion. All the boot needs is the spare wheel holder, luggage rack, a light and the bumpers. Oh, and the 4 wings also need some trim and lights.
On the front end, I built up the nose, realised that I couldn't add electrics for lighting up headlamps (well... there was nowhere to put the battery box even if I could have fit the lamps in, so no big deal) , the nose end only needs the front bumper.
I've also started building the side panels.

Basically, I've done everything I can for the moment. I still have enough bricks to make the rest of the side panels, and most of the opening door, but now...

Yeah... I've gotten to the stage that I can't really do anything else until I get some more parts :(
Being the kind of person who is used to buying huge mixed boxes for a few dollars, I really can't get myself to pay some silly amount on bricklink or ebay... especially when it's unlikely one seller will have everything I need - and if so they'll have higher prices because sellers with a huge stock know that we prefer to buy from one person to save on postage... The other thing being, one reason bricklink is expensive is because it's all new - and the used stuff is to such a high standard, most of it still looks new anyway. And I've so far built my car from old parts because I couldn't care less - so long as they're not chewed up or faded to the point that they look yellow instead of grey or white. Just the fact that you're charged 'per part' puts me off, let alone what people charge for some parts that are really quite common.

So... I'm hoping that somebody, or somebodies, may be able to help me out here. I'm not asking for donations (and would feel guilty if any were given - I'd feel compelled to give *something* back) - I'm happy to give back in return. I'm just wondering if anybody, in their pile of parts, may have some old parts they're willing to sell or swap with me, for a reasonable price/trade - like I said, I'm not fussed if the parts are new or old, so long as they're not mangled beyond use, or faded completely to yellow (a little colour fade is normal - half the bricks I used had it, and I quite like the looks of the 'old english white' it's given the car). When it comes to light grey, I'm not fussed if it's old or new light grey (new being the bluish light grey; 'bley') though if there's a choice, I'd go for old as it'll match the rest of the grey on the car.
I've made a nice clean-looking list of parts this car wants - some numbers are approximate as I'd rather get a couple too many than be a couple short.
Some parts I've forgotten to add onto the list are 1x1 round plates in light grey (a dozen should do for the whole thing), and 1x1 round cones and/or cylinders in light grey (I guess 6 of either should do; or 4 of one and 2 of the other)
Here's "The List" :

UPDATE ! changes are as follows:
White parts needed:
- 1x1 tile x4
- 1x1 plate x2
- 1x2 plate x1
- 1x3 plate x3
- round clock tiles no longer needed; found another way to do that bit.
- no other white parts needed besides
Light Grey:
- no need for any 1x4 or bigger - still need lots of 1x1, 1x2, 1x3 though :(
- those hinge plates are very important for the window framework, and I can't think of any other parts that will do the job well - so they're still needed !
- Haven't found any more of those 1x2 vertical hinge bricks... still need 9 more :(

If anybody has some, or even all of the parts I'm needing for this, please let me know (my e-mail address is - I have a huuuuuge collection of parts (not many new ones though) and might well have some that you need that I could give in exchange. I could either swap, or buy, but I'm just thinking that it'd be nice to get this model finished this year; as opposed to in one year's time...

Hi Dan. Sorry to here that your hunt for pieces wasn't that successful but it sounds that you have managed to continue this stunning build. The back is looking so good. I missed the pirate flag the first time I saw this - very funny :). Glad you like my harrier, it was a challenge only using one set but i am really pleased with the outcome. My lap top cable has broken so I can't post my latest aargh! But I hope to get a new cable today and post later on. I think nathanael's transformer will take some beating but I'm in it for the fun. I was well pleased with 2nd place last time. It appeared that Ape fight's stunning moc just pipped me at the 11th hour - Lol or cry out load. Hahaha.

Quoting R. H. I see you bit off more than you could chew. Perhaps a two toned Tiger with some other color you have tons of for the middle and top? BTW how is your Cala coming? (speaking of things you need parts for)
Haha it's usually the case :) I'll make something and persist, as usually I can make about 95-99% of a model (if not the whole thing) and it always seems silly to not make it just because I'm missing a few parts. With the TVR and Bugatti, I eventually gave in and went with an admittedly very small bricklink order (mostly due to needing two sets of wheels - one for the Bentley too; something which most people wouldn't have) whereas here, even though it only feels like a few parts; once I add it all up it's actually a fair bit... I'm hoping people can help me out, even if only with a few of the parts. If I made it two-tone, then only the wings would be in a seperate colour to the main body - I don't have enough of any colour to make the body a different colour; and I had a huge excess of 2x3 white plates so making the wings white too just seemed normal. No matter what the colour, it sadly won't affect the need for light grey parts, which are for the trim and aluminium parts :( It's a shame because, even though it's still needing a fair bit of work in the photo, I do actually have most of the parts - it's just a case of needing to finish one part before I can add more on top of it. I may try and make, but not attach, as much as I can of the opening door though, in the meantime. - Dan

Quoting christophe corthay Ouaiiiiis !!!
- Dan
