Bought by the Gipswijk Rail Authority from NS, to replace the ancient ex-BR type 2 class 20.
About this creation
The ex BR type 2 class 20 finally grew too old, even for the Gipswijk Rail Authority. It was sent to the NERO equivalent to Woodham Bros in Barry. To replace it they purchased a surplus to requirement MaK DE 6400 from NS. It is liveried in yellow and blue to match the unpowered DD-IRM with which it intended to run a push-pull service between Gipswijk and Nordwijk. It is unpowered other than by hand and retains the red wheels of 1970s vintage. It is pictured in the St. Natalia district of Gipswijk, passing through the station.
