I made this vignette after I read the book Ironhand from the Stoneheart trilogy. It was based on the Gunner, a WWI soldier that is in the book. In this scene the Gunner is in the middle of a battle in WWI. He is taking cover in a trench during a bombing. The curled rope in front of him is my attempt at barbed wire, and next to him is the smoldering remains of a tree. The face I used for the Gunner I use a lot, but no that isn't the only Lego face I have, I just really like it.

It's really cool and i like the burning tree, but why are the walls flat? And why does he have a cape?
The walls are flat because this is a cross section of a trench, It is just a small section of the entire battlefield. Also it is a vignette, so it had to be relatively small. The guy has a cape because he was based after a character in a book that is a WWI soldier and he wears a cape made of tarpualin, so I thought it might look sort of cool.
