About this creation
On June 1st 2005 Sikorsky Aircraft announced plans to build a demonstrator aircraft for their new X2 Technology. The program combined nearly 30 years of company research to create a new generation rotor aircraft. The technology demonstrator was reported to be entirely funded in house by Sikorsky and built at the newly acquired Schweizer facility in Horseheads, New York.
In competition with Sikorsky Wayne enterprises launched the X1 project which was intended to combine previous decades research on stealth signiture, and rigid rotor blade designs. Unlike the Sikorsky project X1 was strictly a military contract aimed at producing a small light weight high spead stealth VTOL machine to be used on intelligence and reconnaissance missions. The project made it to test flight stages with some high speed runs unfortunately a "critical design flaw" lead to a catostrophic failure resulting in the complete destruction of the unmanned prototype. Following the crash funding was pulled from the X1 project resulting in yet another shelved military contract for Wayne Enterprises...
Less than one year after Sikorsky’s 250 kt flight rumors have surfaced of Batman’s new stealth helicopter similar to Sikorsky’s X2. Similar to the Sikorsky the “X-bat” as it has been nicknamed features a similarly sized fuselage with a pusher prop on the back. Unlike the Sikorsky the ship has a highly beveled design and features intermeshing rotor blades rather than a coaxial design. The use of intermeshing rotors was first employed by German Helicopter pioneer Anton Flettner, in the Flettner Fl 265, and 282. It is unknown what design advantages the intermeshing rotors have over Sikorsky’s coaxial configuration, but it is unlikely to be slower or less maneuverable than Sikorsky’s ship. At the least it is clear that such a ship would be highly advantageous for intelligence and reconnaissance, based missions, weather it has been armed for combat has yet to be determined. In the sea of speculation about the origins of the craft and its possible connections to Wayne Enterprises failed X1 program, it is clear that Batman (I mean Bruce Wayne) is on the cutting edge of the coolest toys. The real question is who really should have been awarded the Collier Prize for 2010.

I have uploaded an 8 sec video of the rotors in motion for those that would like to see. I cheated and cut a 4l lightsaber in two to use as rotor shafts. axle pins can be used but then the rotors are fixed

...The YouTube clip is great :). The Rotors work perfectly. There is no real way of sending messages on mocpages unless we use a group or each other's mocs, I certainly don't mind if you use our group - the more active the better.

Hi, hope you are well. This is so cool. Love the interlocking rotor blades. Very slick. Black Lego is always difficult to photo but these look great.

Nice work, I like the sleek look and the dual propellers a lot. By the way, that looks suspiciously like Dave Kaleta in the cockpit :)
