The Rennabellia is a long-distance travel mech that was used mainly for transporting information through enemy territory during the rages of war.
I was inspired to make this when I viewed THESE mechs (more specifically the one on the far right) by bermudafreze on Flickr. I saw his hollow mech torso design and had to try it for myself.
You may recognize the basic leg design from my Stormwalker. The leg skeleton design came straight from there, only I made it much smaller.
The cockpit is firmly attachable, but I took if off to show the inside.
You can also check out these same photos on Flickr, right HERE, but the only reason for doing that would be because the photos are a little bigger, and I think slightly higher resolution or something. You aren't obligated to check them out though.
In conclusion, I had an enormous amount of fun making this, and I'm thoroughly pleased with the results of my hard work. I'm sorry for the absence of posts recently, I was at my mom's for two weeks, I'm also preparing for school, which begins tomorrow for me.
Thanks so much for checking this out, and possibly leaving feedback for me.
for one thing the design and little details like the flames poping out to indicate that the machine ran on some type of fossil fuel are great but what caught my eye the most was the support structure on the legs, how one part of goes right through the hind leg support.
As it is, I wouldn't change a bit without complete remodeling. Except for the minfig, frankly said he looks horriib1e. Arms and hands should never be the same colour if the legs and torso are their separate identical colour.
Quoting Rabid Goldfish
but with a torso like that, it screams to have arms or mounted guns, or something.
You're clever, I did plan for the mech to have arms in the beginning, but I made the legs, and they turned out larger than I was expecting. So I tried several arm designs, but the mech consistently turned out looking like a T-Rex. I tried a mounted gun as well, but I decided against the idea because I just didn't want it to have one. :P
Great job, Alex! It reminds me of a Metal Gear mech, with its unique leg design. Overall, a fantastic design! As a side note, I hope you enjoy the new school year! I know that sounds odd, but after you graduate, you actaully kinda miss high school :(
